I bought this as a Lee Collet Rem 223 die set a while back and have never used it. It was sold to me as a used full case sizing set, but I now understand that Collet is neck sizing only. Now the confusing part. This is my first rifle die set. From what I have found online, Lee Collet sets only have two dies. Can any of you experiencedreloaders tell me what I have and which each of these dies do? I have only reloaded 38 special, 44 special and 44 mag to this point.

The one with the nut looking device on top is your full length sizing die. Small knob is your sizing die. Large knob sizes the neck only.

So from the first picture: The middle die decaps and does a full length resize and the top most die sets the bullet? No need for the collet die if I'm doing full length. I was wondering why two of the dies had decapping pins...

The reason you could not find that set is, it's probably not a set. Lee sells a deeply discounted die set they call their RGB set. It was shipped in that round case but in yellow instead of red. The RGB set came with only 2 dies, not paper, shell holder or dipped.

The original owner then probably added the Collet Neck Sizing die as a stand alone, Lee does sell it separately. Just my take on it.

Lee used to sell a set like that. I've got them in .243 and .308. I don't believe they sell that set anymore though.

The shell holder and dipper go in those recesses between the dies and the case is threaded to hold the dies down. Pretty neat set up but and oddball to store.

Yes Lee sold different sets but in red round cases. The yellow cases were exclusively for the RGB sets and the slots were left empty. They weren't going to design a new case for their inexpensive sets. Now all their sets are sold in flat cases.
