Cause I'm not...

http://www.bradycampaign.org/xshare/pdf/politics/obama-transition-memo.pdf

I love how 90% of this is falsified facts and little snippets of full facts...

Ive already written many letters to local and national politicians and you all need to do the same!!!
Remember this isn't about freedom these days, its about control, control over us as citizens of this country, and the more control they get the less freedom we all have, kinda like communism :/ and we all know how well that works out...

I even wrote tot he Brady bunch asking them to back up facts and provide me with creditable info on assault weapons related violence. They told me over half of the violence in this country is cause by an military style assault weapons, BUT! according tot he ATF which i consider creditable its <1%....

With all due respect sir, your equation actually reads :

BUT! according tot he ATF which i consider creditable its greater than 1%...

Properly expressed it would be:

BUT! according tot he ATF which i consider creditable its <1%...

I point this out solely in the interest of clearer communication

I guess maybe it depends on your definition of an "assault weapon". The Brady cult probably uses the "if it shoots a bullet thats assault so it must be an assault weapon" while the ATF probably uses a definition similar to what was in the AWB. :D

When you consider every gun is an assault weapon except single shot muskets then they are telling the truch. See how that works?

As a history major I might take exception to the following:

When you consider every gun is an assault weapon except single shot muskets then they are telling the truch. [sic] See how that works?

From the point of view of historical fact EVERY style of firearm that has ever produced would have been an assault weapon at one time or another, even Single shot muskets.

Think about it, in the 1600's when we look at the introduction of the match lock it was first and foremost a military weapon aka by modern definitions an assault weapon... and since that time every firearm style ever introduced was first introduced to the military first. Even as early as the 1770's we see unique advances in weapons design that first went to the military. Such as the Ferguson Breech loading rifle designed by a Major (actually Ferguson was a Captain at the time he received his Patent for the weapon) in the British Army. Which luckily was not adopted by the British military during the Revolution since according to one reference I saw about this weapon a skilled soldier could fire six shots a minute compared to the normal 3 shots a minute for the best soldiers of either army.

To use a relatively modern weapon style that most anti gun rights advocates will willing say is not a assault weapon, the lever action rifle either the Henry or Winchester 97. These were the assault weapon of its day. Just as the bolt action rifle was assault weapon of the first World war. and the Garrand was the assault weapon of World War II. Even today we have begun to see the evolution of the AR into a hunting weapon with the introduction of Hornaday's 450 thumper.

History major now getting off his high horse...:)

drizzico speaks wisely.

You think for a second that if the banners got everything banned except for ML muskets, that they'd stop there? Oh no, that musket would then alla sudden be a "sniper assault weapon."

They should make a crime not to own a gun and be trained on said gun. A crook is only afraid of a armed victem and not the police and for sure not the court system!:fire:
