I'm looking for 500 or so .451" 200gr jacketed round nose pistol bullets, and I can't find them in stock anywhere! What gives?

I tried all the usual suspects: cabelas, midway, natchez, etc. Nothing in stock until April.

Do you folks have a source that you'd be willing to share?

I finally worked up a load that I'm happy with for my carry gun, and now I want to replicate the same load with some cheaper round nose bullets so I don't have to use the more expensive XTP bullets that I'll be carrying for practice. Unfortunately, I've hit a brick wall trying to find a source of cheaper jacketed ammo in the same weight with a round nose. Bummer.

You cold try Montana Gold Bullets, they don't have a 200gr JRN but have a 200gr flat point in jacketed.

Precision has a 200 Gr RFN that would work. It's moly instead of jacketed, but no leading worries and they are priced right. I shoot their 200 Gr SWC and they shoot great.

Berrys used to be a cheap alternative to jacketed, but are priced about the same these days. Anyway, they will work for what you have in mind.

If you take a regular 230gn JRN (FMJ) bullet and remove enough material from the base, while keeping the same nose profile, to get to 200gn, you won't have enough bearing surface left on the bullet. I am sure someone makes a 200 JRN, but it will have a different nose profile.
I would look into any of the 200gn RNFP bullets.

Get real

Many are the suppliers of 200 grain .452 bullets that will mimic the .451 that you crave.
For grins who makes the the .451 bullet that you use?

Rainier Ballistics and PowerBond make 0.451" diameter 200 gr 45 RN plated bullet. They are not jacketed, but is a RN in 0.451" diameter.

I have used the Rainier 200gr RN and have had no issues. Just started a new batch with Berry's Bullets, 185gr HBRN (Hollow Base Round Nose) loaded them the same as I was with the Rainier 200gr and no issues, little less kick.
