Why does my Norinco ATD .22 barrel stay so clean?

Last weekend, while I was out shooting on my backyard range with my 10 year old nephew, Logan, we both noticed something unusual about my Nork ATD

We had just been shooting some CCI Quiets through my CZ Ultra Lux, and had pulled the bolt to do a quick boresnaking, Logan looked down the barrel and remarked at how dirty the quiets are

We then performed an experiment after snaking the bore, shoot two quiets, then pull the bolt and look to see how dirty the bore was, it had the typical crud left behind

We then snaked the Nork, and put two quiets down range with it, pulled the barrel, held it up to the light, and were stunned.....

It was almost spotless, looked almost like it hadn't even been fired, easily 90% cleaner than the CZ, so we snaked the CZ again, and this time tried two Super Colibris (yes, I know, very risky, each round was single-loaded, neither stuck), then the same with the Nork

The CZ bore was filthy from just two super Colibri, and the Nork? Once again, looked almost unfired, 90% cleaner than the CZ

so what gives here? Is it witchcraft? Magical Bore-Scrubbing Pixies, a chrome lined barrel, perhaps?.....

Strange, the Nork's bore just doesn't seem to get dirty, and it's still pretty darned accurate to boot....

Priming compound is what makes it dirty. It does not bun clean. Powder burns cleaner. Powder also burns the primer compound more completely.

On a centerfire pistol you can sometime up the powder & get a much cleaner burn.

If you want to see dirty fire 2 12 gauge shell with nothing but a primer.

As to the 2 barrel It could the barrel material or coating. What is a Nork ATD?

Ok Norinco, I should have been able to pick up on that. I have seen the Interams clone. I love the original Browning version.

Parts on the Norinco are actually interchangeable with parts for the Browning. I'm using a Browning barrel-mounted scope mount that replaces the rear sight, and it's worked fine for years. I remember when these could still be imported; I got mine on sale at Wal-Mart for $99.
