Hi All
I was thinking about this today and thought I would wright a post for it.
First reson is that there are still a lot of good used 9mm service pistols that can be had for good prices. I recently got a CZ75 preB for around $250 (if I recall correctly). I just saw some S&W M659s that I am thinking of picking one up ($300ish)
Second. Cheap brass, bullets and reloading gear. Back before the Obama scare of 08 I picked up 5k of once fired non mill brass for about $60. Cast bullets are cheap in this caliber and its not unusual to find decent FMJ for under $100. a K. I think you could find JHP for that cost. Powder? Buy an 8lbs jug of Unique for somthing in the naborhood of $125. Primers are still going to cost the same as they go in all cartridges that take a SP.
9mm has allways been pretty easy to load (for me) Fun to shoot and stores well in a 30cal ammo can (1200rnds to the can). The brass market is going to change as more and more PDs go over to the 40cals. But the USGI brass will be there for a while longer.
Pick one up and give it a try.
