I went into a pawn shop today, they had a para ord.p13 /45 for 399.00,it looked and felt real lite wieght, maybe aluminum alloy frame? we have been looking for the p16/40 to no avail, the pistol today is not much bigger than my hi power. Thanks

I picked up a Swedish Mauser (6.5 x 55) for $100 yesterday at a pawn shop near Conyers Georgia. It's in excellent condition and shoots really really well. I'd say I did pretty well. I manage to find pretty good deals at Pawn shops regularly.

Pawn Shops

I found an 8inch Python with a small scratch on the barrel in a pawn shop once. Just looking not buying. Looked the Python over, clerk said what will you offer? Offered $300 so he could laugh and I could leave. He asked how I wanted to pay for it! Oops! Paid by credit card.

You and I must live in town different Anchorages.

I cruise every pawn shop in Anchorage at least once a week, and the outlying ones once a month and noted this..

A. Overpriced
B. Junk
c. Ignorant sales help.
d. Owners/managers that try to overvalue their junk.
e. On occasion, stolen guns.

I have seen guns at the Pawn Shops that were totally unsafe to shoot. I have seen em bought at Pawn Shops and brought in for repair and been unrepairable (ie how about a Colt Official Police for $350 with a cracked frame). If its any quality at all, it usually bought by one of the gun shops.

One of my buddies, who owns three gun shops, finds some deals now and then, he generally gets to cherry pick though. The pawnshops hate me becasue I tell em exactly what their junk is worth.

I went to the same pawn shop yesterday ,they had a ruger 10-22 in the plastic mg36/42 stock rig for 169.00,I did not like the feel of it,it had an Eagle 30rd mag stuck in it. I liked to have cracked up listening to a salesman trying to sell a woman her first pistol 380. Oh it will do what a 9mm will do damage wise, same size bullit Just Shorter case on &on. It was fun for a few minutes,I had to gi gi gi git out of there. Thanks

Not Anchorage, the Valley. Wasilla, to be exact. There are still some good buys out there I haven't grabbed yet. Anchorage pawn shops are a different kettle of fish.
