Why more states have CCW?

Why do you think more states have passed CCWs ?

A. Crime rate?
B. Voter pressure?
C. NRA?
D. We are a more intergrated society now?
E. None of the above.
 
A,B and C.

Pressure from voters and NRA added to the crime statistics of states with "shall issue" CCWs showing an overall decrease in violent crime.

Only a few states still bury their head in the sand and pretend it is a bad thing.
 
One thing to consider is that unless it is a "shall issue" CHL state, the fact that it is listed as a CHL state is worthless.

Hawaii, for example, until recently had two (2) CHL's issued on the island of Oahu. One for the Honululu Police Department Armorer, and one for...get this...the Honululu Police Chief's sister.

However, that poor excuse for a state is listed as a "CHL state".

I believe it is because so many states have been successful with their programs. Just look at when it first started here in Florida. It took a while before the next state picked it up and gradually the idea has gotten more and more acceptable. There are VERY FEW cases where someone with a CCW/CHL has caused any problems despite what the gungrabbers would have everyone believe and the crime rates reduce to boot.

Gad, that's worse than here. At last count, roughly 0.00875% of PRNJ's most privileged were accorded the little piece of paper that lets them legally defend themselves.

I heard the Police Cheif in Honululu revoked his sisters permit after much rebuke from islanders?
By the way what nerve to not issue to law abiding, tax paying citizens but will issue to your sister?? I've got one thing to say to him...:cuss:
 
In Texas, the answer is B. Texans fired a popular governor - Ann Richards - in large part due to Texans wanting CHL after the Killeen massacre.
