Why so few retail outlets for supplies?

On the "other" hand, I'll bet you have trap & skeet supply shops that handle a variety and large quantity of powders and primers. The loads with a type of hull are limited and lots of shot-gunners reload.

I buy most of my powder and primers at local gun shows to avoid the HAZMAT fee. There are generally a number of vendors, but one in particular shows up regularly, has a good selection and very fair prices.

My local Bass Pro has a good selection of powders and usually has primers. Prices are "a bit" higher.

Of my local shops, two have powder. One has a fairly pitiful selection at fairly steep prices, and the other has a pretty good selection at Highway Robbery prices.

One more option--get enough people interested and do a group buy.

The change to federal law that allowed 'mail order' sales put a real hurt on the stores.

The bulk mail order/internet order places have better prices than the single small shop (with a lousy section anyway) that used to be near me.

I talked to the mgr of a smaller sporting goods store & he told me the cost of insurance & rent are ASTRONOMICAL when you have powders & primers on hand.

Plus, plain & simple, if you're not a reloader, you have no clue as to what's needed.
