There have been many bills that Governor Doyle has vetoed in his two years in office: the Indian Gaming compacts, the property tax freeze bill, the marriage act, and many others that created a great amount of controversy, and put Democrats in a tight spot.
It's interesting, though, that the only website Doyle and his henchmen have created is one that deals with the veto of the WI CCW bill. The site is here: http://www.noconcealedweapons.com
Isn't it fascinating that he devotes an entire site to trying to raise money to defeat what will be an inevitable backlash against his veto come November? What's more, you'll notice that he isn't asking for donations to those Democrats who flipped: he's asking for money for himself. Yes, he'll be able to transfer money from his own campaign account to legislative Democrats, but I'll guarantee you that you won't know which legislator got what until after the elections.
Aside from the outright lies Doyle is making on this site, it's also interesting that he doesn't have a direct connection for the donations. When our political action committee--the Wisconsin Concealed Carry Movement--asks for donations, we make it 150% clear where the donations are going, and where to send them to. The online donation links for Doyle's site are lacking in disclaimers, and addresses. What's he got to hide?
Doyle's site looks pretty murky in that respect.
He wouldn't have this site up if he knew it wasn't an issue that could decimate his party. What a pity that he didn't help his fellow Democrats by not vetoing the bill. Now he's playing defense.
Folks, we can win come next November by rewarding pro-CCW Democrats and defeating the anti's, and make Governor Doyle a footnote in the history of gun issues in Wisconsin. If Doyle is going to play the $$ game, then I ask you to do the same. We need to reward the pro-CCW Democrats who stuck with us, and help defeat the anti-CCW Democrats who went against us.
Please send whatever amount you can afford to our political action committee at: WCCM, 3263 S. 45th St, Milwaukee, WI, 53219.
If anyone here thinks that I or any other WCCA/WCCM volunteer is trying to make even one red cent off of this, they can ask other Wisconsin THR members who know what this has been all about: if any of the commited WCCA/WCCM volunteers had spent the same amount of time flipping burgers part-time as they did working this cause for free, they'd all have two or three safes full of guns. The WCCM filing reports can be obtained by calling the Wisconsin State Elections board. Or you can save yourself a lot of time by calling 414-543-1916 and asking us for copies of those reports. We believe in full disclosure. Governor Doyle is hiding something.
We do this because we believe in the righteousness of the cause. We do it because we believe in the God-given right to self-defense. While other gun owners are out shooting, we're not. Many of us haven't been shooting in months, because we're getting the other gunowners to rise up.
On the morning of November 3rd of this year, we'll know if we have the votes to pass the same kind of shall-issue concealed carry bill that 37 other states enjoy.
Whether or not we win depends upon you. If you can't afford to donate money, donate volunteer time.
This is rubber-meets-the-road time, people. So, what are you prepared to do about it?
