This should be a very short thread. Would one of you please provide the width in inches of the Colt 1908 Pocket Hammerless pistol in 380acp? The width of the slide and the also the factory grips would be most helpful. Googling around, I couldn't find it, so I would appreciate your kind help. Thank you.

Trying to settle a disagreement?
My .32 cal 1903 comes in at .774" for slide width and 1.04" center of grips.
The .380s aren't a whole lot larger if any at all. HTH

Thank you, Onmilo.

No, there is no disagreement to settle. I just watched a 1941 movie on Turner Classic Movies entitled, "Unholy Partners." Imfdb.org did not have that movie listed so as to determine the exact Colt models used, but I guessed that at least the 1903 Pocket Hammerless was used. The 1908 Hammerless in .38acp seemed to be in it as well.

I just chose the 1908 in .380acp to be representative to me of the thin width of that series of sleek-looking pistols. When I look at all the mini pistols out there today as threads abound discussing "pocket carry" pistols, I sorely wish someone would manufacture something like it again in steel.

I appreciate your time.

Two .32's Slide: .765 and .782. Frame: .613 and .627.

Two .380's Slide: .789 and .813. Frame .622 and .627.

But those thicknesses are not uniform. The frame may differ by as much as .020 in width depending on where the measurements are taken, on a brand new gun! Also, the .32 and .380 magazines and magazine wells are not the same

Jim, would those variations on the same model be accounted for by the level of the handwork needed to bring those items into a tolerance bracket of some sort?

I was looking for the width, in general terms, as a mental reference when I view other small, more modern pistols and even my own 1911-pattern pistols.

I do appreciate your efforts on my behalf. Thank you.
