I have been hearing stories that wild hogs are making they're way up from the south and into Ohio...Has anyone from that area or others heard anything to that effect?

Hogs in Ohio?

Frosty,

I hope they're not coming your way. We have them here in SC and they multiply as fast as mice. Can't shoot them fast enough.

They're nasty, they stink, they will eat everything and anything to survive. They even eat rattlesnakes here in SC like they're candy. They will ruin your deer population if they take hold.

On the other hand, they're good to eat (no fat), they're fun to hunt.

Good Luck,

HiVelocity in SC

frosty,
There are 2 types of land: one that has hogs and one that doesn't have hogs yet!

Some hogs got loose around Gladwin MI a few years ago. They have multiplied and are quite destructive for crops. The DNR wants you to shoot them if you can. Since there is no season on hogs, you can pop them anytime you want, and as many as you want. Some deer hunters got their venison and bacon during the season. Some of them have run up to 400 lbs. (the hogs that is)
