Will sight pusher work with Bomars?

I was thinking of replacing my Kimber's factory rear adj. sight with a Bomar, and wanted to buy A MGW sight pusher and do it myself. But, after reading the small print here: http://www.bersapistols.com/item/42976_MGW_Tools__SIGHT_TOOL_1911_GOVT.aspx I don't know if it will work. Does anyone have experience with this tool, and will it work with Bomars? Thanks-

Seems like they specifically say it wont work with the Bomars. Are they the bigger "wedge" type sights? The other issue I think you may need to take into account, is that there are different sized dovetails on different 1911's. You need to know that before you order the sights.

As for the tool, I have one for my SIG's. They are well worth the money, especially if you have a couple of guns. I've replaced a number of sets of plain and old nights sights for new and never had a problem. Once you do one set, the rest take about 5 minutes. The tool also allows you to adjust the sights easily and without damage to the night sights.

I changed my kimber adjustable out with a bomar. I used a piece of hardwood sledgehammer handle and a ballpeen hammer to knock out the old sight and knock in the new. I used the same thing to change the sights on my ruger97 and my cz75b. Hitting the wood handle against the sights works and it doesn't mar the finish. Mark

The MGW sight pusher for a Colt 1911 will not fit over the blade of a Bomar or even the Kimber adjustable sight (yes, I have one and have tried) so you can't get the "jaws" positioned to move the sight.

A B&J Machine Universal sight pusher will work but you have to be careful that the slide doesn't get cocked even a little when using the pusher or the pusher tip pin will break. You also have to make sure the tip doesn't contact the frame of the gun or you will scrape metal off.

If they aren't night sights, a punch and hammer should work fine.

Keep in mind a Bomar has a taller blade than your Kimber adjustable. On mine, the Bomar was bottomed out with the Kimber factory front sight. A .200 front sight will give you adjustable range.
