Williams Firesights VS Tech Sights on my SKS

Hey folks,

I' m trying to decide which of these iron sights are a better buy for my SKS:

I'm really drawn to the Firesights, because I like red dot scopes, but hate batteries. The look sharp and impressive, and the price is right at $40.

I also see how the tech sights might be more accurate at the end of the day because of the longer distance between front and rear sights. Plus the tech sights seem more easily adjustable. However, I'm very concerned that when I remove the rear cover for maintainence, the rear Tech Sight will get off center.

I prefer the Tech-sight with the peep closer to the eye. I find it much easier to focus, it gives me a substantially longer sight radius. Its also easily ajustable on the windage and elevation.

You could always change the front sight with it too to make it more visible.

Definitely the Tech sights.

Peep sights don't work well when they are 8 inches out away from your eyes.

If you want the Williams front sight, that's fine. But it removed the ability to adjust elevation at the front sight. You'll need the TS200 rear sight with both windage and elevation adjustment.

I have a Williams Firesight front and Tech Sight TS200 rear on one of my SKS. It's great for quick pop shots and easy sight acquisition.

It's not supposed to lose zero if installed correctly. I haven't tried yet though. I just run a boresnake soaked with CLP through, wipe off the bolt face and then call it a day.

Same here with the TechSight and FireSight front. Also same with the Boresnake. Love it.

I tried the Williams sight and the Tech sight. The Tech sight wins hands down, no contest. Much better sight picture, longer sight radius, and the tech sight is much more robust. I have the T200 model so it is fully adjustable.

Nothing against Williams. They make fine after market sights, but in this case I have to give the nod to tech sights.

Also, I have removed the tech sight several times for cleaning and have not had any noticeable change with the sight's zero. Just be sure to follow the installation instructions and it should work just fine.

Ditto on the Tech aperture and Firesight out front. Right about dusk, that fiber-optic glows the most lovely, most visible orange. Delicious.

id look at the mojo micro click sights. They make them for the sks. I have one on my wasr and my mosin and love them. Accuracy is greatly improved and they hold their zero well
