Just saw this on Wilson's website. I don't see what this is offering that 1/2 dozen other polymer autos don't already. Oh there it is, a gas system. Those have worked well in the past. Plus, it takes the ugly factor to a new level. The only positive I can see is the price tag, $579 MSRP. Pretty cheap for a Wilson pistol.

It is a South African ADP pistol, the ADP=Alexis Du Plessis, who was the designer.

So I have too much doubt whether it is a "genuine" "production" Wilson.

honestly, I've heard good things about it. man is it ugly though :uhoh:
polymer is so moldable yet it still looks like a pool of black vomit.

the way P7s are known to heat up is this thing going to melt?

Oh. Wow.
Must be nice to have a Brand Name. Saves all that tedious R & D if you can just call it The Advanced Design Pistol....
And I know that a gun is a tool and you shouldn't care what it looks like, but this takes the hugest, shiniest, most tiered, plaque emblazoned fugly award. Ever

Funny what a little marketing will do. Not many people liked the HS2000- until it became the XD. Not many people bought BUL 1911's- until they became Kimber 1911s. How many others can we think of- class?

I always thought the ADP was an interesting design- glad they're marketing it.

It just seems that a lot of "shooters" won't buy a gun unless they see a paid (I mean unbiased) write up in a gun mag.

I give them credit for not using the words "Extreme, Operator or Tactical" in the title though....

Goodness! I guess low-rent pawn shops will have something new to display for sale.

Good grief. Ugly and cheap looking.

I honestly glanced at the date on my computer, just to make sure I hadn't lost track of time and it wasn't April 1st.

I wonder if there's a new distillery somewhere around Berryville...

It's a step up from a Kel-Tec P11, or their new one.
Looked at this at SHOT, and I liked it more than I thought I would. Felt slicker than I remembered the Stealth being originally. W.C. probably gives the guns a little love before sending them out.

To me, it just looks like a Glock with a manual safety added.

I'm not sure about the location of the safety, but to me the idea of it having one is a plus. If the trigger is smooth (assuming a DAO only feel), it may be something worthwhile to look into.

Sizewise, this appears to be a little smaller than the Glock 19, so it should be relatively concealable as well.

New Wilsons

From my experience with Wilson, if they are putting "Wilson" on the side of it, it will be a fine pistol. I'll buy one. I've been trying to decide between a Glock 19 or the Kahr TP9, I just made up my mind, I'll wait for the Wilson, I can live with ugly. I also want the new KZ in 9mm. I love my KZ45 but it's getting harder to shoot .45 in IDPA for me. I wonder how long before actual delivery will start?

God help us if I see Ken Hackathorn carrying one of those in that silly helmet in the next Tactical Journal.

It's a Sigma/Glock crossbreed.

Sock? Gligma?

RH side looks like a P-7 meets Hi-point ejection port.

I'd have to see a review... the trigger looks hinged ala Seecamp 1991 conversions rather than a pull-back. That can make a wonky feel.

Quite a gamble for Wilson... why not make it a 15 shot weapon?

Special Awesome Ops Forces Annihilator

Yeah I'm a little tired of "Special Forces," "Super Mega Ops," or something equally cheesy that should only excite a fat adolescent with too much acne. It may be shallow on my part, but a great pistol is ruined in my eyes when it has something really stupid emblazoned across the side. :barf: Like this:

It's a pity... Such an otherwise attractive looking pistol... Writing SPECIAL FORCES on it and even writing it across the side does nothing for it... But hey... it's probably just me. ;) More power to anyone who coud really care less. It's a great pistol.
