Ran into an (unusual) condition, at least for me. Friend of mine gave me a nice stash of suppossedly once fired .270 brass. All mixed HS, but only RP, Win, & Fed. Ran all of them through my Lee dies, prep, etc, and then to reloading. The Rps & Feds took a normal bullet seat. Practically every Win piece was still way to loose to hold the bullet. Fix was simple enough. I just ran them through the neck sizer adjusted for just enough tension to hold the bullet. But was just curious as to why the Winny stuff only? I have seen this only once before in a batch of .223 cases but don't remember the specifics.
An earlier poster stated he found new Win cases in 7mm as being to tight to seat his bullet .
Anyone encounter the loose condition before ? Is it a quality issue or an issue with the gun they were fired in or the previous reloading ?

Different batches or even different factories of origin will be the culprit. If you measure the neck wall thickness there will be a variation between brands most times. The die makers take this into account and make dies to size the thinnest brass available when dies are made. Then someone makes their brass necks thinner and you have a problem until the die makers figure it out. Also they try to work the brass as little as possible to extend the life of it. And then presto some brands are a problem.

I have one lot from Nosler that was not too loose, but much more so than all my other range pickup and other new brass. Just looser, shoots fine and no bullets have fallen out. I guess just sometimes stuff happens.

sounds like you got some thin brass, did you mic them ? I load for four 270win's and use win brass never had a loose bullet . , done with Lee dies .

I had the same problem. My bullets would sit loosely in the neck and fall inside when I seated. Ended up figuring out it was Winchester brass so I made a special run of all my Winchester brass by barely crimping them then seating then recrimping. It was enough of a pain that those shells are in their own box never to return to my bench.
