Winchester Model 250 magazine tube removal

I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out how to remove the magazine tube on my Winchester Model 250 lever-action .22 rifle. I removed the pin under the front sight and from I have read, the tube should slide right out. I can't get the thing to even begin to wiggle loose! I don't want to force and or break anything on this old gun. Any tips on what I can try?

And correct me if I'm wrong, but once I remove the tube, all I have to do to remove the forend is pull down on it and it should come off, right?

Not sure if it matters, but my rifle has a plastic piece in between the barrel and tube....

Why remove it anyway? Everything can be cleaned without tube removal.

there should be a pin in the "sight mount" just above the magazine tube. drit this out and pull the mag tube out and the forend will come off. the tube holds it on the gun

If it will not come out use a good penetrating oil and let it sit overnight. It should come out doing what you have done.

I need to re-blue it, and also remove the forearm to refinish that also.

Got it!

I got it off now. I had to tap it out with a punch and ball-peen hammer.
