I recently acquired a Winchester model 55 single shot .22 as a project gun. I know that there weren't many made and parts are nearly impossible to come by. I'm looking for an action slide, extractor and all of the pins and springs attached thereto. I've checked many of the obsolete gun parts suppliers with no luck. If anyone knows of a source for blueprints for these parts so that I could have them made, or the parts themselves, I would greatly appreciate it.

If and when I can find the parts, I intend to build a nice little custom gun out of it, possibly as a first gun for my daughter once she's old enough. I'm going to refinish all of the metal (a previous owner did a wipe on browning finish :barf: and didn't even bother to remove the action from the stock prior) and restock it as it appears that the gun was used as a club on multiple occasions.

It's not much, but maybe this will help - http://www.pbase.com/thejerk/win_mod_55

It's a simple design. The extractor may be a common part with other Win .22's. If not, another extractor may be modified to work or at least serve as a general pattern for one. Pins are easily fabricated from drill rod. The action slide looks like a simple project that could be reverse engineered from the other parts that it interfaces with. Springs are easy.

Thanks. I've seen this schematic. I'm hoping for at least a more detailed picture of the part. I was able to find an extractor at gunpartscorp.
Also, if anyone has a model 55 pictures of the aforementioned parts would be very helpful. I've seen the schematics and a lot of pictures of the gun fully assembled, but no photos of the individual parts or the barrel and slide assembly separate from the receiver.
