The Wisconsin Dept. of Justice updated their website again this morning with a change in honoring South Dakota. They are now stating they will only honor the South Dakota Enhanced/Gold Licenses from South Dakota. The Gold Licenses are not being issued yet but will be NICs exempt licenses for South Dakota Residents.

When I emailed Wisconsin DOJ a few days ago when they listed South Dakota as a state they would honor and a state they would not honor I ask them a couple questions. I ask them if they would only honor the South Dakota Enhanced. I also ask them about Mississippi as they now issued an Enhanced Permit. They just removed SD from the listing of states they would not honor and didn’t put any restrictions on their SD listing. This morning they added the restriction that they would only honor the SD Enhanced/Gold Licenses. I also emailed them again asking about any other restrictions on the other 4 states they just added to their listing. You can see that new listing here, https://www.doj.state.wi.us/dles/cib/conceal-carry/reciprocity

Mr. Slider,

According to the documentation we have been able to obtain from Mississippi they have a single permit but allow for an “enhanced carry endorsement”. The endorsement requires submission of a qualifying affidavit. Since there is a single license we have not differentiated between licenses recognized in the case of the state of Mississippi.

"This was from the Director of of the CIB in WI."
