Howdy, folks.
I recently was given a good chunk of ammo and need an excuse to buy guns to shoot it. I want to make the purchases over the next 4 months (one gun a month :banghead:) and want to spend no more than 350 on each purchase.

I want to get a 12 gauge pump shotgun with a 18" barrel for home defense. I'm a lefty if that helps (but no ithacas please)

I then want to get an autoloader Pistol in .40 S&W as an alternate HD gun and for summer concealed carry.

After that I need a wheelgun in .357 magnum (DA or SA as long as it has a hammer). This gun doesn't have a purpose but I don't want something that's going to be sent to the manufacturer every other month for repairs.

Lastly (and this one can cost a little extra) I want "ma thurdy thurdy" (in a levergun format). My gut reaction is a Marlin but as long as it's a levergun and chambered in .30-30 I'll take it

The shotgun, pistol, and revolver are going to be hard to get under your price point. I'd suggest used and/or police trade-ins. Glock, M&P, or XD for the auto. A Remington 870 or Winchester 1300 for the shotty. Maybe a Mossberg, but I'm not as familiar with those. Finally, a used S&W if you can find one. But again, your price point is tough.

The 30-30 shouldn't be a problem. You could get a real nice Marlin 336 on Gunbroker under your price point.

-T.

EDIT: It appears I may have been wrong on the shotgun (price-wise).

You can get a Taurus revolver for that price, some people like them.

the shot gun is easy. Mossy 500 or Rem 870

for under 350 for a .40 pistol. a used glock, or one of those Styers. Sigma if you dont mind the trigger

for the revolver under 350... i dont know. whats a ruger 101 run?

SW 4053 .40 pistol for $299

The 30-30 should be pretty easy but here is one from the site I listed above that should come in under $350 after shipping and FFL transfer fee.

A Mossberg Persuader w/ 18" barrel can be found at any academy for $280.

For the revolver call Cdnn Investments and tell them you want a .357 mag revolver and you have $350 ask them about their .40 pistols while you are at it.

Centerfire systems
has some deals as well.

The shotgun is a non-issue Rem 870 or Mossberg 500 from Walmart any day of the week (if your Walmart sells guns).

Finding a quality handgun in .40 S&W for about $350 is no problem either. Go to an authorized Glock dealer and have your commander write a letter for you to get the call to duty discount. You have to contact Glock Inc., fax them the letter and then they cut you a discount model to the dealer (both cops and military are eligible). As an added bonus you get an extra magazine and should have your new Glock for right $350-380 + tax.

A used revolver in .357 that is quality might be an issue. If you are lucky and shop around a bit you might find a Colt Trooper or similar.
