Okay I have a friend that’s pretty gun savvy but I think he’s a little crazy. He wants to join the 380 rage but he won’t consider the LCP or Bodyguard because he’s afraid that they will bend in his pocket. He’s worried that while working on equipment and leaning around on the pistol in his front pocket that his size could “bend” one of the “little plastic pistols” so he’s only looking at the 238. He has faith his XD won’t bend when he carries it in his front pocket so it’s not like he’s opposed to poly framed pistols. I've never asked him if he's ever heard of a "bent" pistol, or mentioned there's still a pretty stout slide but still...

So I ask....has anyone ever bent their pistol???

Poly guns are designed to flex, it helps absorb recoil. I'm pretty sure if you put enough pressure on one it would break but it's not gonna bend out of shape.

Bwahahahaha...
Wrong time of year for April Fools...:)
If he's Superman, he might be able to bend it...but if he's Superman, he doesn't need to carry a gun.

No worrys.
Your friend is wrong.

It will not hurt a Kel-Tec or LCP to set on it.
I have been doing it for 5-6 years.

I even "field tested" it two winters ago.
Had the P3AT in my right hip pocket while walking the dog.
I slipped on the ice and fell on my azz so hard it left a P3AT shaped bruise on my right cheek.

Didn't hurt the gun atall!
SO, the answer is still No Worry!

I don't recommend that kind of gun testing though!

I did see one pic of an LCP with a broken trigger guard on Elsiepeaforum. It was chalked up to a defect.

I told him I carry my LCP in my back pocket and sit on it all the time....I'm going to text him a link to this if I get enough replies.
