I collect .22rf single-shots and got the wrong Bronco at an online auction. The brief description didn't make it clear to me. Anyway, #1) I need help in correctly identifying this gun, and #2) I need to establish what it is worth in order to sell it.

Only markings on it are a serial number stamped into the bottom of the grip, and .410 " - 3" cast into the side of the receiver. It's a very neat little single-shot shotgun with very good bore, very good mechanics, but finish shows normal amount of use and abuse. Photo furnished by auction company below, as I haven't had time to take some new pics.

Searching this forum I've learned it's the "Bronco" design, but may have been made by a number of makers. Anyone got any additional info. It would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards ~ ~ ~ 45Broomhandle

I would have guessed Bronco, but what do I know, I've never even handled one.

Guess I'll keep looking.

My uncle gave me a Bronco 22LR just like the one in the photograph when I was perhaps 7 years old. Dad traded his Mossberg Western Field 22 bolt action for that Bronco, and then took the Bronco and traded it for a very good ohm meter. For plinking, it worked but was kind of slow to reload. I've never, ever, resented Dad for that trade and I still have that Western Field. Most of these Broncos will not have a serial number and some were given away free at hardware stores kind of like the free toaster at the bank.

Mine was reasonably accurate if I recall, but it was nothing more than a simple target rifle.

Thanks for quick replies.

As I recall there were at least THREE variations of this gun: the .410 only; the .22rf only, and the over/under .22/.410. I wanted either of the guns with .22rf, but I GOOFED, and ended up with .410 only. Will be selling it off at auction shortly.

Anyone out there got a .22rf Bronco you want to trade?

It's a very nice gun, nearly identical to the one JohnBTmentioned on GunBroker. But mine does NOT have the piece cast into the butt with the F.I. info. Nor is mine's finish condition that nice. Mine shows normal wear use. But it is mechanically VERY crisp.

Also, if you check the serial number on that GunBroker gun compare that to mine which is numbered 16401...

By the way JohnBT, what is the address shown in that ad? I can't make it out.

Thanks again, and best regards from the "Gunshine State" ~ ~ ~ 45Broomhandle
