Going thru Dad's stuff (6 years after his passing) and found a german cleaning/oil kit that he liberated. Would like to know which firearm it was issued with.

Case looks like an old Prince Albert tobacco can and is 5 1/4"x 3 1/4" and 7/8' thick with two compartments ,bottom contained an oil rag and was appx 15/16" deep, main compartment held an oil can/dispenser, two brushes, pull wire and tip/weight and a takedown tool.
Painted a shade of OD but darker than what the US uses.

Main compartment was sectioned off for oiler and two sections for the brushes.

Stamped on the case is "G.Appel" and 1936 underneath.
Takedown tool "MUNDLOS" and 1935 underneath.
Oiler stamped "G.APPEL1936"

Takedown tool kind of looked like and old fashioned bottle opener, triangular opening one end and shoehorned shaped on oppsite end with a punch riveted in. Punch appx 1/4" diameter and 3/8" long.

Oiler is kind of neat. one end screw cap for filling and oppsite end a screw cap, nozzle shaped, that when unscrewed several turns was spring loaded and when pressed, a small stream of oil dispensed. Both ends had a rubber O ring to prevent leakage.

Pull wire was 20" long and the tip/weight appears to be brass and is two peices screwed together. Overall length is 3".
Longer section has a round hole and shorter has two holes one enlongated and one round hole where the wire was attatched.

One of the brushes is fiber and is 5/8" in diameter.
Second brush has fiber bristles top and bottom with bronze bristles in the middle section, well worn. The fiber portion is 7/16" in diameter but the bronze bristles are almost gone.
Both brushes have hooks on each end to hook to the tip/weight.

I have no server to post pics on, but can email if asked.
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer....
