WWII reenactment groups?

I hope this is a sufficiently firearms-related question.

There are many civil war reenactment groups that have the historically correct uniforms, muskets, etc, and they do very realistic battle scene reenactments.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows of groups that do such with WWII battles. I'd like to do some photography of such an event if it exists, and give it a very antiqued feeling.

I know there's such a group in Boise, but to be honest I don't know how big they are or how to get a hold of 'em. Actually.... yes. Do a web search for a shooting range in Parma, Idaho. Ask about their subguns competition. There's a couple ol' guys with Thompsons and a guy with a german belt-fed MG who frequent that, I think... don't got any names for you though, I'm afraid.


..Though I DO remember at some "history days" or another in downtown Boise, the guy with the MG just about killed some poor ol' man. GermanGuy touched off the weapon for the crowd (blanks, of course), and an unsuspecting ol' feller crossing the other side of the street just about had a coronary.

Poor guy was probably back in 1943 for a second there....

Local Boy Scout Troop down here in Nashville area does it. I dont know how often or what. But they are at every gun show showing off all the period pieces and such. Heard they do a pretty good job at it all tho.

There are groups, even in Communist California. Gulf War II guys. You get to play with your ARs and Rem PSS.

You might give a call to the Patton Museum at Ft. Knox, KY. I went to a WWII reenactment there a few years ago that was quite impressive. Included a halftrack, couple of Shermans, some sort of German light armored vehicle, and a flyover of a couple of Mustangs. There were plenty of guys there in period costume with the appropriate firearms.
