Has anyone bought the Springfield XD9MM slide conversion for the Springfield XD40, making it a 9MM? I would like to know if anyone has done the conversion and how does it perform? Is there any trouble with it? What should I look out for? Is there a certain 9mm bullet that should be used, 115,124 grain or higher? Thank you to all those who reply. 74man

Are you replacing the entire slide with a 9mm slide assembly or just one of the aftermarket drop in barrels that converts a 40S&W slide to 9mm?

Either way I have seen both work great and never any issues. I have several XD-40 but never bothered converting them to 9mm but I have seen several XD-40 running 357 Sig and 9mm without issues. The XD-40 frame is identical to the 9mm frames. The slides are nearly identical differing only in the breach face and the hole at the front for the barrel. Either conversion should work very well. Magazine might even work, many XD-40 magazine will feed 9mm although you will sometime have a XD-40 magazine that will let a 9mm round slip through the feed lips.

XD OSP 9mm Slide Assembly I asume you mean this.

Hard to justify when you can get the whole gun for that.
