I recently picked up a Kimber Ultra Carry and had some XS 24/7 standard dot sights installed. I noticed upon shooting a few rounds the rear sight screws came loose and therefore the sight moved. I removed the sight and noticed the little spring (see picture) that goes in the hole in the sight. With the spring in, the rear part of the sight actually is lifted off the slide (see 2nd pic). But without, the sight lays flat on the slide.

Wondering what is the best way to install this sight?
The sights came with a tube of Red Loctite.
Should I put a little on the screws and lock the sight in?
Do I put a little on the bottom of the sight to affix it to the slide?
Should I leave that spring in or out? Thereby having the rear part of sight lifted or against the slide.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The spring in your slide is part of your Swartz firing pin safety system. XS sights are known to have a large size tolerance, meaning some may be so tight you have to drive them in with a sledge hammer and some you can push in with your pinky.

Mark where the sight is zeroed and loktite it in. You can also take a sharp punch and dimple the bottom of the sight to give the loktite something to "hold" against.

Good luck:)
