but, may I take the opportunity to provide a reminder? ( As I type one-handed, with a thick bandage on one finger and a wound that has soaked through 3 bandages and continues to bleed.) Use care with those broadheads, and use the provided wrench to tighten them This is the first time I've pulled this in 25yrs of bowhunting, though in retrospect I've probably been close before. Once had a friend that missed the entire season due to slicing a tendon w/ a broadhead. Thankfully, I'll just be a little clumsy for a bit and won't have any hunting downtime, but it could easily have gone the other way. Least I know I got 'em sharp!!! Seriously, take care and treat these things with respect, folks! (And good luck!)

Ouch! I am sorry to hear about your predicament.

I dont bow hunt but I would like to pick it up once I get out of school, thanks for the advice

Ouch. Thanks for the reminder. Oh and keep it away from those strings. Nothing like Ruining a day of hunting by accidentally cutting a string with a broadhead. Dumbest thing I have ever done while bowhunting. :fire: That was when I was new to bow. I know better now.

Thanks for the reminder. I've cut myself (first year I hunted with bow) by drawing back and then placing the index finger of my hand holding the bow over the broadhead, out of habit to keep the arrow from falling off, as I had done while shooting field points. Unlearned that habit right then, right there. Hope you heal up soon.

Those things scare me to death!

Hardly any way to stop the bleeding when you do cut yourself on one!

BTDT!

Very true, so after 14hrs of bleeding I headed in to the doc and got my 8 stitches (sigh)and the tetanus shot...which I requested in my left arm so if it gets sore I can still draw my bow...no luck as of yet in finding camo gauze for the wrap, though...

I feel your pain,I been there, its not fun,
back in 1996 I bought new points for a hunt up in Canada,I bought these new style points,,well they werent machined right,YEA YOU got it...4 days before I leave on my hunt,i cut 3 fingers..no way to stop the blood,i Used super glue, that worked hunt like hell. but i got the blood from running,,I took them blades back and showed the store owner, he tried..I said STOP,,you'll do what i just did,he took them back, and i got ones i used for years before..No cut fingers,
