Saw this rifle at a pawn shop, it's a Yugo SKS (with bayonet) with a AK Mag Conversion on it, they are asking $249 for it.

Condition wise it looks prity good stock is clean with no cracks, barrel dosn't appear to have any pitting.

what do you guys think?

If it takes true AK mags, and not the "duckbill" ones, I'd personally say thats a pretty good deal.I have an sks-m that takes AK mags, and its 100% reliable, and a hoot to fire.I beleive the converted sks's typically go for more like $300-350, so.....

You should also check to make sure Bubba didn't get a normal SKS and weld and grind an AK mag well in it.

A factory built SKS that takes AK mags is a bargain at that price, but a Bubba job or one with the duckbill mag is most likely gonna be more trouble than it's worth.

nevermind, just had a closer look at it, has no mag well, just a bubba jurry rigged mag catch.

My understanding is that you just have to add enough parts to make it comply with 922. Some alterations could also affect it's C&R status, but that should only count for future sales. You can buy a C&R and modify to your hearts content so long as you stay NFA and 922 compliant, but once you're done it's not necessarily a curio and relic anymore.
