A little less than a year ago I purchased this rather nice looking tok from SOG. After I removed the two pounds of cosmoline and put it thru the dry run all seemed fine. I can usually tell if a pistol is going to work from doing this. So I put it away until I went to the range last May. There is only one real outdoor range here. I tried the tok along with six other pistols and the silly thing would make one shot then even with the trigger bottomed out would not shoot again. I have since read this is a somewhat common problem. I wish I had tried it out in my back yard. I told SOG that,yes, I know it's been a year but as far as I'm concerned you sold me a defective gun. No joy. My question is: if the problem isn't the safety or the magazine safety, will the trigger group from a romy or other tok fit the yugo tok? Thank you for any information.

the trigger group should interchange ... as I'm sure you know, the main difference in the Yugo is the length of grip and longer mag.
Thank you for your response to a new member. What I need is information from other people who have this problem hands on. I have no issue with SOG; I've been dealing with them for about four years and they have been 50/50 or so which is good. It's my fault that I was too stupid to try the thing out right when I got it. My info will be when I have to pull it apart and fix it. Funny, the safety on this thing is in the same place as the one on my norinco chicom tok. Again,thanks for the input, and I will pull the suggestions there at the bottom.

My M57, when new, worked great with one mag & was like yours with the other mag.
I bought it from J&G Sales, they replaced the mag & now all is great.
Are you sure it isn't just a loose magazine?
hondo, the mags both seemed the same. I could always cut out one of my many cz52 mags and try again, but it is probably the safety or that stupid magazine safety, combined with the fact that SOG sold me a broken gun. with the forth coming up soon i will be able to test my repair without upseting anyone. thank you for your input.

The magazine interlock is under the grip and is easy to test.
Be careful cutting the CZ52 magazines, some of them have slots that will trap the mag in the grip when inserted because they hang up on the mag interlock.
I imagine that good disassembly will reveal the source of your problems, but if the trigger is capable of moving aft it probably isn't the "safety" devices.
Outside the fire-control group, most of the M57 is fairly simple, pop those grips off (the latch is inside, look for video if you haven't found out yet ... do NOT try to pry them off) and get in there to observe the mechanical function or lack therof.

Sounds like a reset issue
which could be the sear binding in the safety, I would check it,
by removing the safety, and seeing if the gun still has the problem, removing the safety is all of a 3 minute project. So it's quick.

I had the same problem with mine. Try this, remove the left grip and fire the gun (if you can get to a range) what you may see is the trigger bar (aft end) will slide downward and bind due to recoil. Pulling out the magazine and resetting it will fix the problem but for my TOK the action of the magazine being pushed in would slide the trigger bar up into the correct position. It was not a magazine disconnect that was the problem but with those symptoms that is what I thought it was. After a little research I found that many folks have had this problem. The suggested fix is to disassemble the gun and carefully bend the trigger return spring to apply more pressure to the back of the trigger bar. Or you may be able to find an inspec spring online somewhere I have not looked. I have yet to fire it but the fix did seem to help.

I seem to recall tags on guns from SOG and others, that have the disclaimer to have a gun smith check it out before firing it.
Just chalk it up to a lesson learned, and test fire guns soon after purchase. There really isn't much room to blame SOG here. If you had cleaned it and shot it right when you got it they would have sent you another one.
All true, cz guy, test as soon as possible,but the seller does not tell you to have the piece checked out by a smith, only that they are not a testing facility and cannot be held respons...ect ect. I've had problems like this before and still got boned with the return shipping costs. Remember that these wholesalers are in business to make money,only. Out of seven pistols purchased under the same circumstances,and pre-checked by me, only the yugo failed. Thank you for your advice,it is indisputable.
