I've missed shooting rifle since I left the Army so picked up a Rock River Arms NM chambered in 223/5.56. First thing I did was a field strip to check it out. One thing I did notice was the rear sight - it still has the left/right windage knob but there's also an elevation knob on the rear sight.
Using the standard zero targets with grid, I am accustomed to moving left/right with the rear sight and elevation at the front.
What's the advantage of using the rear elevation, other than maybe I don't have a nail to adjust the front (or one of those nifty front sight adjustment tools that people say I can't do without...)?
