Gunny, do you have any current numbers on how many of these guns are stolen?
You'd be wrong. It's very easy, all you have to do is ask.I am guessing it would be hard to get the truth from a inmate.
You'd be surprised what an extra sack lunch will get you...I would be interested in where the actually get their guns. I have heard from friends and relatives etc. but I am guessing it would be hard to get the truth from a inmate.

They know. Jail and prisons are like the colleges of crime. They may not have letters after their name, but they know what they’re doing. They discuss this stuff endlessly.Makes you wonder if the judge informed the convicted felons that possession of a firearm is no longer a right. Maybe there is just no penalty for being caught with one? Seems like a cure for a lot of this would be the death penalty. Unfortunately the latest political solution echos that old saying in the military about the search for the guilty followed by the punishment of the innocent.
fixed it.Kid Napping is a child sleeping. Kidnapping is a crime. Which was it Gunny?
I imagine I could go down to Texas and have a gun or multiple guns in 20 min by breaking into a handful of cars parked on a street.
Texas isn't the wild west. There's not a gun in every car. Hell, you get into some of the suburbs and you'll not find many at all.
Here's the next update.

I have to wonder how many of those "felon in possession" perps are going to spend any time in prison.
This is nothing new. The bad guys have been removing buttstocks from AKs for years. Then the DRACOs came out. Now days they are starting to use more ARs and AR pistols because they are lighter and have less recoil. Plus they cost less.Gunny,
I find it a bit disturbing to see several rifle caliber pistols used for some heinous crimes in the last several lists. Is this a new trend from where you sit?
Most of the guns we pick up have something to do with drugs. Most of the felons have long RAP sheets with charges that you would think would put them behind bars for life.I find disturbing the murder/att murder, felons in poss and drugs. I think drugs leed to other crimes. I was fortunate being brought up and living in a drug free / low crime areas or not being able to notice it.
We lock them up all the time. They just don't stay in very long. Also if a Juvenal gets Juvenal Life for Murder, he gets out at 21.I have to wonder how many of those "felon in possession" perps are going to spend any time in prison.

The guns listed as Att. Murder of a Police Ofc were from where a guy shot at the police from inside his house. My friend was shot in the lower leg.

Also, the news does not report all the crime in your area. They want you to have the perception that you live in safety.
No matter what laws are passed the bad guys will arm themselves with the best weapons they can get.Does there seem to be a firepower escalation among the bad guys due to new conflict over drug markets? I noted that you have documented an increasing number of high capacity magazines with seized weapons. I am a bit worried that ramped up drug violence as in past peak in the late 80's to early 90's might lead to draconian restrictions on firearms for the law abiding.
Found Property is just that, a Found gun.Gunny
What does "Found Property" mean in your list of seized weapons??
