List your state

Virginia is pretty good, easy to get CC permits and we have open carry. I'm embarrassed by a Brady score of 17, though. Must be those stupid counties clustered around DC with their waiting periods. Stupid because you can drive half a mile out of Fairfax or Arlington into Prince William and there is no waiting period for state residents. I'm sure the county regulations made the Supervisors feel good even if they accomplished nothing.

California. The spelling speaks for itself. No update needed either, you all know how much brady loves this state. Actually, it's not a state, it's a condition.

West Virginia, because we supply all the states and DC, NYC with all their handguns. IF Bloomburg says we do then ignorance is no excuse for stupidity.

Thanks for the reminder - I keep meaning to put my state in my profile so it shows up (as I often have to make note of it in some threads).

IL - a dictatorship subject to the Madigan and Daley regime. No concealed carry, No open carry. Only *just* got the right to own handguns. Still subject to an "assault" weapons ban.

I live in the Worst... Place... in the COUNTRY for 2nd amendment rights (and for most other criteria as well).

South Carolina. No CWP needed for car carry, but open carry prohibited. Overall better than average; the last two years in a row the state has held a "no tax" weekend for gun purchases and has talked about doing away with gun registration.

Better not have any teflon-coated bullets or handguns with frames that melt below 800 degrees though!

Texas, better than some. CCW for handguns in your car for all non-felons over 21. Open carry for any long gun, anywhere, loaded or not, but I wouldn't try it down town in a metro. Your car is covered by the "Castle Doctrine", as is your house.

Welcome to Utah, here's your carry permit & free handgun. You may pick up your free box of ammo once you've exited the terminal. Open Carry, OK. Car carry, OK.

Proud members of the Brady 'Zero' club.

Virginia....not that bad, but could be better. The Federal laws could be better too, and the Federal Government could do a better job of making sure States and localities don't stomp all over our Constitutional rights.

CCW shall issue. No permit required in your vehicle. Guns must be concealed in a vehicle. As in , no leaving it out in the open , does not require on person concealment but it is legal in the vehicle even without CCW

New Hampshire. Real good, pretty much anything is legal. Only complaint is a stupid piece of paper that says cc is ok. But the cc permit is easy to get. Its shall issue. My last one took about 14 hours. Open carry is ok without a permit.

I have always been a firm believer of listing your state of residence in your profile. Not a fan of folks who will list something like "Middle Earth". Makes things simplier.

Tennessee.

State Constitution Article I Section 26 guarantees the right of the citizens of this state to keep and bears for defense of themselves; the state reserves the authority to regulate the wearing of arms in public with a view to prevent crime.

Court rulings and state attorney opinions are that the RKBA specificly protected is individual for self-defense and for volunteer service. The specific protections do not negate ownership or use for traditional lawful purposes (hunting, protecting livestock from predators, etc). Regulation must serve a purpose targeting criminal behavior without restricting the lawful ownership and uses of guns.

Bigbay: I agree with your comment 100% regarding listing your state. It should be strictly voluntary and closest city would be nice also. Come on Mods, lets be proactive.
