Hello all, I have a friend who acquired some surplus ammo recently and wanted some help figuring out what it is. Bullet is .305. Case is 2.111. OAL is 2.988. I also have some pics of headstamp, writing on box and paper in the box. Also compared a 7.62 NATO. Thanks.

I can't read Arabic words, but I can help on the numbers.

The first label, top line - 1957-4-11
second line - 375-1957-80-17
third line - 3-1957-25703

the headstamp (V,o) would translate to 7.5

It's actually Syrian. It says "Republic of Syria" in the third picture and then... something about defense? Can't make sense of the bottom line, but I would imagine it's some ministry of defense.

The Syrians bought a bunch of Mas 49 rifles from France - this would have been the ammo for them.

That was going to be my next question, whether it was any good or not? I think that he has quite a bit. Thanks again.
