Got a little behind on the show and tell

Been busy lately and got a little behind on the show and tell, so here's an abbreviated version from the end of October:
Little deer camp for just me and my girlfriend in 2nd season:

She shot a buck twice, but we still lost him that season. No blood, but knocked him down on both shots. I believe the first was in the rump on an uphill quartering away, the second was a high shoulder. Went down to private land, where we got permission to follow up, bumped him again, but lost after that. Also, a couple of dink bucks that I snuck a picture of before getting busted:

Was just a dinkfest, nobody killed anything.

Little kitty cat I got to chase down this morning to help recollar. Got a lot of video that I'm working on getting uploaded right now. We treed her four times in total. Lotsa fun:

Have a question for you, please.....

You say you treed the cougar 4 times. Assume you were using dogs? Had to be. How else would you tree a big cat! Dogs, right?

Yep, with dogs. First tree she jumped right when we showed up, 2nd tree was way too high for her to fall from without damage so a guy climbed up an adjacent tree to spook her down, 3rd tree she was darted and jumped out but one of the dogs chewed through her leash and gave chase, treeing her again about 200 yards away, where she finally took a nap.

A dart and some psychedelics.

That last picture looks like a bull elk rack!

No experience with running panthers....none in the Southern Mountains when I was a kid growing up! None that is except those BLACK PANTHERS that were always seen but never shot

Your saying the big cat was treed several times made me wonder if these cats acted similar to a regular bobcat. Push a bobcat hard with dogs and the cat will run up a tree a few feet and jump off and do this 3-4-5 times on other trees before it finally trees for good.

The "Dart or Capture Gun" that you probably used was developed by my old wildlife Prof at the U of Ga. back in my undergraduate days, the early 60's. We used to rush to a darted goat, the "test animal", to administer a fast injection to counter-react the knockout drug used in the initial dart injection! Ah, the "good old days".....why did I have to get old? You youngsters are having so much fun

!
