what is your primary carry gun

Mine was a Walther P99 QA until I dropped it two nights ago and broke the rear sight detent. Oh well, gives me time to find a better holster and belt while it's being repaired.

Two month wait for CHP permit in Virginia?

Happy ending This story has a happy ending. I received a letter from the court clerk today to let me know my permit is waiting for me. Now I just need to go get it. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Chris

Two month wait for CHP permit in Virginia?

I applied for a CHP in Northampton county on April 18. I called the clerk of the court right around a week ago to see what was going on, and I was told that my fingerprints hadn't come back from the State Police yet. Seeing as how I'm employed by a local law enforcement agency, I wouldn't think...

Headline: Comic Book Hero Packs Heat, Three People Notice

I seem to remember seeing The Phantom using a 1911 in most of the pictures I saw. The British counterpart to Captain America, Union Jack carried a Webley revolver and a knife.

    Thin guns for ccw

Walther P99's are pretty thin, with the overall width being just over an 1". Not bad for a 15 round 9mm.

    Daewoo: Will it ever catch-on?

Call me crazy, but I think Kimber imported the Daewoo's at one point. I seem to remember a forum member directing someone else to Kimber for spare parts. I've handled a couple at gun shows, in the past year or so, and was impressed with the quality. I'd love to get a chance to shoot one...

    Glock is missing something..

Like a long slide .45. Why is it they have long slide pistols in 9mm and .40/.357, but none in .45. I'm not much of a Glock fan, but it seems to me they would market well to the competition and SWAT crowd. Chris

Interesting Beretta M9 Article & Firearms Trivia

So the Sig 228, which is know as an M11 in the Army, is a military handgun that uses an 11 millimeter bullet? Interesting use of that word

My bubba job on an SKS. Purists don't click here! (pics)

Gewehr98, You wouldn't happen to have a parts list laying around for that SKS would you? I've been interested in building something similar ever since I saw that pic. Chris

    Walther P99 QA

The trigger takes a little getting used to. It's kind of like the Glock and XD triggers, in that it has to be cocked first before it will fire. Retracting the slide a 1/4" of an inch is enough to accomplish this. I think the pull is mentioned as being around 7lbs on the Walther website, but I'm...

    P99 QA or XD-40

I own a Walther P99 with the QA, and I must admit that the trigger on the XD that I've fired was much lighter and smoother. Also, the XD seemed to have a little less "snap" compared to the Walther, although that is something that is easily taken care of with practice. Admittedly, the XD sub...

    Savage/Springfield mod 67 disassembly

A buddy of mine just got a Mod 67 and we're having the hardest time trying to get it disassembled. For some reason we can't work the slide, and I can't get the pivot pin for the trigger group out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chris

    shopping, found Beretta 9000s

I must admit I've never fired one of the 9000's, but I've handled a bunch at gun shows. The grip feels, and is very fat. But it doesn't seem to prevent me from getting a good pull on the trigger. However, the safety has been so stiff on every sample that I've handled, that I was afraid I would...
