Currently a shooter and becoming a hunter

You'd better check your regulations. Unless you and your buddy have already drawn your permits, you will have to stick to the East side of the mountains. All of eastern Oregon is permit only for modern firearm deer hunting. Depending on where you hunt, it takes 2-7 years to get drawn. If you...

    Buckmark Supressor?

I have a Buckmark with the Tactical Solutions barrel and a Tac 65. I love it. The TS barrel is great because its light. It is very well balanced with the suppressor attached. As for noise reduction, mine sounds about like a pellet gun. Don't know a whole lot about the integral suppressors...

    deer season

Hey fordman. I'm up in the Willamette Valley. Our party drew tags for the Warner Unit this year. So I'll be down in your neck of the woods (the Lakeview area). Can't wait 'till Saturday morning. By the way, where do you hunt Blacktail down there? I've hunted over in the Hyatt Lake area.

    Another Hunting GPS Post

I have the Garmin etrex, the basic one, you speak of. I think its a great beginners GPS. Inexpensive ($79 on Walmart.com) and easy to use. Although, it doesn't have the mapping capabilities, it works great for my hunting purposes. Very useful for scouting, etc. Once I've mastered the GPS...

    Help with Buckmark

Thanks. I have contacted Browning and its under warranty. I just thought I'd check here first to see if anyone knows of a simple fix, instead of having to send it in. They said it would take 2-4 weeks. Guess I may have to send it in. Thanks for the responses.

    Help with Buckmark

I have a Browning Buckmark camper. It's about 7 months old and I've put less than 250 rounds through it. Took it out last weekend and the trigger locked up. No problems feeding or ejecting, the trigger simply would not move. When I racked the slide, it would not cock. Seems like it should be...

    Shooting in Vancouver, WA

I live in Vancouver, WA. Anyone else here who lives nearby? If so, know of any places to shoot? I'm looking to shoot shotguns and handguns outdoors. Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I live out in Brush Prarie. Thanks in advance. JT

    Shootin' Squirrels in E. Oregon

Ya, I admit 20 rounds per rat is a little high but we weren't trying to conserve ammo. Most of us were using open sites and often shooting while the truck was moving. We shot a lot more rounds than were necessary to kill the critters but we were just having fun. We weren't concerning ourselves...

    Shootin' Squirrels in E. Oregon

Went over to the Burns/Crane areas of Eastern Oregon and shot hundreds of ground squirrels (sage rats) last weekend. Boy was that a blast. For any of you who have not done this before, you've got to put it on your to-do list. Between six of us, we probably shot 300 of the little suckers in...

    Ruger GP100

Thanks everyone. I picked up a stainless GP100, 4" barrell with full underlug, with adjustable rear sights for $400. Sounds like that's about the going rate. Put about 100 rounds through it so far and really like this gun. Thanks again. JT

    Ruger GP100

I've heard good things about the GP100 and am looking at it for my next purchase. What's a good price for one of these bad boys? Thanks in advance. JT
