I just recenlty bought a Buckmark and this is going to be my playtoy. Im wanting to get a suppressor for it and I was wondering if ya'll can point me in the right direction.

What are the pros and cons of an intergrated silcer as opposed to a detachable one?

I'm wanting to spend around 400 dollars on the suppressor.

I've looked at getting a gemtech outback 2 with the tactical solutions barrell...would this be the way to go?

Any help would be nice...thanks

I have a Buckmark with the Tactical Solutions barrel and a Tac 65. I love it. The TS barrel is great because its light. It is very well balanced with the suppressor attached. As for noise reduction, mine sounds about like a pellet gun.

Don't know a whole lot about the integral suppressors, but one advantage of the detachable suppressor is you can use it on another gun. I use the Tac 65 on my 10/22 as well as the Buckmark. The 10/22 is very quiet supressed. Nice to be able to go back and forth with the can.

From what I've heard, the Outback II is a bit smaller and lighter than the Tac 65. Although I don't know from personal experience, I've heard there isn't a noticeable difference in noise reduction. I chose the Tac 65 because its cheaper and you can take it apart for cleaning - which is imporatant with a 22LR suppressor. The Outback II is very popular and I know it would work great on the Buckmark.

Hope that helps.

JayTee hit the nail on the head.

Integral - usually slightly quieter
Detachable - can be used on any .22 you have threaded

The detachable is a better bang for your buck I think.

As far as supressors (in no particular order):

Outback II - only con is that you can't open it to clean it.
Tac-65 - Relatively simple, gets the job done, and is cheaper than the OutbackII , perhaps slightly louder, but not much. Here is a link that has some pics of the inside of the TAC67(essentially a stainless steel TAC65) Gives you an idea of the buildup inside these things. Silencer tests also has a wealth of information on all facets of suppressors.

Others:
AAC Pilot ~ $325
AAC Aviator (longer, quieter pilot)
AAC Prodigy

Those are probably a bit out of your price range but they are worth looking into.

I think ive narrowed it down between 1 of 2 choices.

While the Tactical Innovations is cheaper its extremely long.

I like the outback II and the AAC Pilot.

Betweent hose 2 can anyone tell me any information that would be helpful?
