Good point.
When the Czech communist gov't transferred long arm production from BRNO to CZ, the nomenclature for the rimfire rifles changed from as simple as can be to needlessly complicated. I have two of the CZ 452 rifles. Nothing wrong with the guns but understanding the different models...
As I recall, I had to go back and forth between their parts guys and a manager to resolve a relatively minor parts problem.
I was never impressed with CZ as a company.
For example, their model designations always seemed more complicated than they had to be. Want to buy a 9mm Glock. It's...
Let's see. The two conclusions from the doctor's research are:
1. Alcohol and firearms don't mix
2. People not allowed to have firearms are less likely to commit gun crimes
I hope he didn't pay too much for this "research".
Who cares what Apple does?
Without Jobs, Apple had ceased to innovate. Let's make the iPhone a little smaller...let's make the iPhone a little bigger.
In a few years when the economy collapses, half the country will be armed and the other half won't. At that point things will get hot and...
Judging from his picture, he appears to be a some kind of wannabe pimp.
He's a "professor" at some backwoods community college. He's probably semi-literate.
The one problem with his plan is that he's probably got three guys with baggy pants that hold their Glocks sideways. On the other...
Glock parts in general tend to be cheap. There are lots of Glock parts in the$2-5 range. Glocks were designed to be cheap and easy to manufacture.
In contrast, one grip screw for my H&K P7 costs $9 and a magazine is $70!
Two observations about Glock:
1. During the last decade, most new guns have increased in price, but Glock seems to sell for about the same as 10 years ago. One way of holding the price constant is by using cheaper parts.
2. The extractor/ejector problems on Gen 4 and late Gen 3 guns...
My goal is to accumulate 10 years or so worth of ammo. I used to say a lifetime supply, but that could mean storing ammo for decades which may not be wise.
Of course, if you shoot a lot, 10 years worth of ammo could be expensive.
I have several thousand rounds of Winchester White Box...
You don't say how substantial the concrete ceiling and walls are. If they're very substantial (such as 10-12" of reinforced concrete) then a vault door makes sense. If the walls are significantly less substantial, they will be the weak link and I would go the cheaper route of a heavy duty...
I like the milled receiver guns because they tend go be built with better parts and they have a smooth, high quality feel to the action. The added weight over a stamped AK doesn't bother me because I prefer heavy rifles.
Ron Cheney works at Battlefield Vegas where they have about every...
Yes, I think the most significant difference is the direct gas impingement action of the AR15 vs the gas piston action of the AK. Not only is the AK action inherently more reliable, but it also seldom breaks parts.
The weak point in many semi-auto actions is the extractor. There are...
If you're looking for a holster-on-your-belt gun, semi auto is the way to go.
For a pocket gun, I don't think anything is better than the 15 oz J-frames.
Going to one of the new .380 pistols will save a few ounces, but the .380 is a definite step down from a .38 special +P. The biggest...
