If You Desire to Have an Attorney and Cannot Afford One, ....

Whether or not one's attorney is a public defender may not be a crucial factor in terms of the skill or experience of the attorney. I would much rather have one of the public defenders with whom Steve Gosney works than, for example, the defense counsel in the Gutierrez trial in New Mexico. For...

If You Desire to Have an Attorney and Cannot Afford One, ....

We have heard Officers Malloy and Reed, and the guys and gals in Blue Bloods, recite the subject line. It is part of a statement that is read to suspects before they are questioned by police while in custody. The requirement came about as a result of a SCOTUS decision in Miranda v. Arizona...

    Mare's leg type guns- why?

Toys. Steve McQueen came up with the idea. He needed a "gimmick" for a new Western, and he had a metal fabricator modify an 1892 Winchester rifle. The gun was not operable. Because of the show, "mare's leg" guns were sold. It is indeed. Small mag capacity, terrible ergonomics... Steve did...

    The Knock-Out Game

The thing that makes the Knockout Game unique and worrisome is not its frequency of occurrence, but its method, it's objective, its brutality.and the means of avoidance. Regarding the former, it depends entirely on surprise, in that it does not provide for any advance notice, or an opportunity...

    The Knock-Out Game

Of course--that's the way it's done. I don't think that anyone could handle a camera while throwing a punch, and the distance would be a problem. Well, there would be an attacker and a videographer. Might there also be a spotter and perhaps a lookout?

What's your preferred every day carry?

i started out with a J-frame, and could not do defensive drills effectively. I need a good tigger pull; an easy to rack slide; reasonable sights; recoil no greater than what will allow a balance of speed and precsion; and something I can carry all day. I want a capacity of at least 7+1. I...

    My Carry Routine

There are places in which we may not or should not carry firearms, and there are alternatives to that. I have come to believe that pepper spray should not be regarded ad an alternative, but as a supplement.

    Pocket holster for cargo pockets

I had the idea that left hand cargo pocket carry would be helpful to a driver in the case of a sudden entry into the car by an unwanted parson. That has happened. I tried several holsters for my LCP Max. None worked well at staying in the pocket and allowing the gun to come out freely. In...

    Pocket holster for cargo pockets

Don't be ridiculous! What are you talking about? A defender need not see a delay weapon to have a reasonable belief that someone is armed with one. He need not wait to see one to use deadly force. That's a basic tenet of use of force law.

    Pocket holster for cargo pockets

Do you think that is important? A person who has a basis for a reasonable belief that someone had, or was trying to access, a weapon could address the Ability part of the A, O, J, P formula in a legal defense of self defense. He not need not see a weapon.. Why would that matter? People...
