Dental Issues with Large Caliber Recoil

Thanks for the replies fellas. Nothing wrong with my teeth (other than a mouth full of fillings) and I haven't ever had any problems shooting. I was just curious if the statement I had heard had any merit to it, which from what I have learned here it does not.

Dental Issues with Large Caliber Recoil

Just curious and it may just be a lot of talk that I've heard but has anyone ever had any issues with their teeth when shooting large caliber rifles such as .300 Win Mag and up? The common statement I hear is "The recoil was so bad it jarred/loosened my fillings" Any truth to this or...

    Remington 522 Viper, thoughts?

Too much plastic for my tastes but it may turn out to be the best shooting rifle you've ever owned. I reckon you can get a lemon in most anything.

    .22 Ammo

I have a good supply of Federal Bulk .22lr (550 ct boxes) and it has been reliable. I usually save my CCI and shoot the other for plinking. I'd stay away from Remington, I feel the same about Winchester except for their subsonic rounds. I shot some Armscor recently and had no problems with it...

    WARNING! Defective Federal Ammo!

I had a problem with some Federal .22lr bulk ammo a while back. I contacted Federal and they sent me a shipping label, sent the ammo back and received double back what I had sent in. I've had nothing but a good experience with Federal. Maybe you just spoke with the wrong person.

10/22 for hurricane season defense in my subdivision.... Really

People tend to overthink things. A Ruger 10/22 would make a perfect weapon for what you want to use it for. It will kill just as quickly as a .500 S&W but you will have a hard time explaining that to people. I'd sooner take a .22 rifle for personal protection or anything else needed than a...

    Reington 514 project rifle.

Excellent work! I really enjoy seeing these threads about restoring old .22 rifles, could read them all day. What is BLO? We are blessed with an abundance of pawn shops here in NC/SC (I live right at the stateline) but most of them want new prices for their old beat up relics. I'd love to...

    What Books on your Shelf?

Appreciate the suggestions fellas, I'll check some of them out. I only wish there was a decent used bookstore within 100 miles that had a fair selection. Most of my stuff has come from ebay and prices tend to run high especially on the Keith and Skelton books. I did manage to find an...

    Arms Expert

I know a lot about guns but not all guns so I wouldn't consider myself an expert. :D I was just curious if there were any degrees or such that could be obtained. I'd love to find a job in the firearms industry. Appreciate all the info!

    Arms Expert

Does anyone happen to know if there is any kind of certification to become an arms and armor expert? Possibly classes or a degree that could be obtained? Possibly to gain a job working in the film industry or doing appraisals for individuals, estates, etc?

    Buying a .22lr lever action!

Henry - look no further. Simple to clean, accurate, and won't break the bank as some of the others listed like the Marlin or Winchester. I own guns by all three manufacturers but in a lever action .22, I'd go with Henry. Excellent customer service as well.

    Remington 7400 Scope Issue

Scope was adjusted using 1/4 increments as directed by manual. I did try adjusting as if each increment was 1/2 or 1". I shot off a bag with only the stock resting on it. I am going to try some Remington Corelokts in it but other than that I have no clue what it could be other than an...

Very Very Poor Marlin Customer Service

If he actually does get the refund. I've only dealt with the customer service department once since the change over. I had an older Marlin .22 mag in synthetic stock that had some chips coming loose off the synthetic stock. They sent me a new one with no questions asked except my...

    Remington 7400 Scope Issue

I've got a Remington 7400 wearing a Nikon Buckmasters 3x9x40 scope. Went to sight it in today with 130 grain Winchester Powerpoints (used these in the past in this gun). Sighted in at 25 yards, after a few shots, had it dead on. Went to 100 yards, was high and right about 2". Made...

Case XX Collector's Book or Guide

Not to sound like a smartass but yeah I did try Google. It's like anything else though, I'd rather purchase one good product vs spending my money on ten different ones. I think that is the main reason people ask questions here.
