The stock on my barrett M95 doesn't have any drop (comb?) - it's just straight, all the way from front to back.
Even with a high scope mount I still have to push my cheek pretty hard against it.
Recoil first "extended" trip to the range tore my right side sinus canal under my cheekbone.
Painful, lots of antibiotics.
Petroleum jelly was the solution. Allows my cheek to "slide" over the rifle so it doesn't tear anything up.
With other rifles? Aside from a sore shoulder (!) I've never had any problems.
