I stripped a Remington 512 and reblued with the Oxpho Blue Looks as good as any of my other rifles. Take your time and follow the instructions to a T. The better you prep the metal, the better it will look after you have finished.
Get a set of calipers, I don't use a FCD for pistol rounds. I like HP-38 powder for my .40S&W. Get a the Lee hand primer, its worth the $15, the ram-prime takes longer.
I loaded 100 of the 75gr Hornady bullets in .223 with 23.5gr of Varget last month. Loaded to 2.250 OAL and didn't get any crunch, you can hear the powder when you shake the round.
Good evening everybody,
I received about 450 once-fired 30-30 WIN Brass. Out of those right at 50 were bent up pretty bad, the case mouth dented in and some were pretty well out of round down past the shoulder. Are these salvageable with a full length re-sizing die or just scrap them...
I use Turtle Wax liquid and Mineral Spirits in walnut. Brass looks like new after an hour. Turtle Wax was half the price of the Nu-Finish where I am as well.
I loaded 50 rounds of 5.56 today: 62 gr FMJ over 24.5 gr BL-C(2). Loaded 50 of the same Friday. Loaded 125 rounds of .40S&W earlier in the week: 155 gr Hornady XTP over 5 gr HP-38.
I resize, deprime, seat bullets and crimp with mine and I have plenty of leverage for .223 Rem. Its not the fastest setup out there, but it works for me.
