Are we allowed to mail C&b'ers to the UK ?

I would also check with our friends in the UK. I beleve BP weapons are regulated over there and importing a BP pistol to the UK may not be so easy.

    Early Virginia Finish

I thought I would post some pictures of the finish on my TVM Early Virginia. She is my first build and I finished the barrel in a two step process. I first used Birchwood and Casey Plumb Red, rubbed it back and used Oxpho Blue. She came out with a nice blue/black finish and when the light hits...

28ga Early Virginia took the Dove challenge

Very nice looking rifle. I have a TVM Early Virginia that I used Oxpho Blue on. It has a similar finish, I like it. The only thing I did differently was I used Birchwood Plumb Red first, rubbed it back, then cold blue over the top. It looks similar to your barrel finish, but when the light hits...

How do ya remove the takedown wedge on the open tops ?

They will loosen up some after they have been shot a few times. I use the heal of my hand.

    Zouave 1863 Rifle

My Zoli does the same thing. They stay in place when I am lining up my shot but either fall down or pop up once the rifle is shot. You could make a small shim out of plastic, or something that would cause a little friction, and place it between the sight leaf anf the base. When you tighten down...

    Cleaning black powder

Warm soapy water, and WD40 is all you need to clean. I also leave my BP guns stored with a light coat of Bore Butter. If you dont have WD40 you can use a light oil but, WD40 is much better at disbursing moisture (it is not a good lubricant).

    Powder

My guess would be yes; a one pound container of 777 should give you more loads than a one pound container of BP, by about 15 to 20%. 777 also costs about 59% more than BP, at roughly $27 a pound vs $16 a pound for BP. Just so you know I shoot both but usually more 777 because I think it cleans...

    Chiappa 1855 Springfield ?

The .570 ball should be fine. I shoot my 58 cal with .570 ball and the .010 patch. You might also try the .015 patch its tight but might provide better results. Gets hard to do with a dirty bore.

    Missing Barrel Locking Pin

Does that mean a tight fit?

    Missing Barrel Locking Pin

I have thought about drilling the hole out, and filling it with a drill shank to match the diameter of the one locking pin. I guess I could put some lock tight or adhesive to hold it in.

    Missing Barrel Locking Pin

I have a Navy Arms 1851 Navy in 36 cal, that is missing one of the Barrel Locking Pins. I have had one on order from VTI sence February, apparently they are out of stock. I got this gun off GB and have not fired her yet, but I am anxious to try her out. The gun was made in the 70's but has never...

what replicas arent accurate reproductions, and how to spot a fake?

I am certainly no expert but from what I have read none of the Italian reproduction could be confused with an original musket. Their lock dimensions are off as well as the thickness of their barrels. In addition, a good give away for an original is the condition of the wood. It is hard to...

    Richmond Rifle range report

In the barrel. This however is not a recomended fix. I may have just got lucky. I would assume with a Hoyt barrel the flash hole may not be you issue. From what I have read you should never open up the hole in your nipple, it can lead to hammer reset and some other issues. Before I tried...

    Richmond Rifle range report

What brand Richmond rifle do you have? I have an Armi Sports CS Richmond, and have been shooting her for about two years. I had some issues with ignition, tried 2f 777, 2f and 3f goex, popped caps etc... I had to take out the cleaning screw and run a pipe cleaner through every 2 to 3 shots...

best Minie for Armi Sport .58 cal. 1861 Springfield?

I have an Armisports CS Richmond, basically the same rifle with different markings. I have shot 575-213 and 577-611 minnies out of mine with 55gr of 2f 777 or 60gr of 2f Goex. My rifle seems to shoot better with the 577-611's, but either minnie ball will work. In regard to patched round ball a...

    Uberti/Cimarron Colt .44 1860 Revolver

Very nice. The 1860 is next on my list to buy. I particularly like the Uberti 1860.

    Steel Frame 36

Thanks for the info. I have another question regarding conicals. I have seen them in .375 will these work in the Uberti or do I need to try larger conicals?
