Vortex impact 4000 rail mounted LRF

First impressions, not a super detailed review as I’ve only had it 3 days or so. It’s awesome. Great step up over the silencerco radius I’ve been using. It’s very well thought out. It has a lot of great features like internal weather sensors and compass. I’m already comfortable recommending...

Question for those with precision electric scales that drift

I’ve been using an acculab for almost 20 years. It’s also been sold under the sartorius brand. Several others out there that are similar. Fantastic scale but it always drifted on me and I’d have to hit the zero every so often. Sometimes it drifted so often it would make me just wait til...

    NFA address change notification

anyone know what the official requirement for SBR is? i've searched the ATF website and their page on this topic seems to apply only to address changes that cross state lines.

Two things I should have put together fifteen years ago

I forgot how much fun 22 lever guns are. Used a griffin Tri lug to QD so I can pull the mag tube for loading. Otherwise the can blocks the tube. Local gunsmith made an extension and threaded the barrel.

    AMP press?

being a geek, I find a lot of cool stuff irresistible. stuff like the pressure trace sensors, just about every style of chronograph, the induction annealers, the precision powder dispensers, etc. i know some decent arbor presses have been instrumented by dial gauges so you could look at the...

    trigger cam 2.1 review

this is my "i just got it 2 days ago and have taken it to the range twice" review. in theory, this device attaches to your ocular lens and allows you to see through your scope and operate operationally like normal, while it magically sees what you see and records it. it uses wifi to attach to...

    A tip load dev

I found this a bit curious. 6.5x47L 135g atips. Varget. Fed gm ar primers. Lapua new brass. 3 shot groups of 36.82g and 36.86g look remarkably similar. Rounds 1,2 same hole and 3 high right. overlayed, it would be 4 rounds through same hole and 2 rounds through a different hole. and the ES...

I hate being half a click off zero

After my rifle fell off a side by side while I was going up a mountain yesterday, I tried to rezero last night. Shot 2 rounds same hole right target. But forgot my tools so could slip knob. Today I shot one and confirmed it was same spot as last night. Then dialed up one click and shot one...

Lgs has powder and primers on shelf over a week

They’re asking $60/lb but they’ve had varget, h1000 and other very hard to find powders on the shelf for over a week now. They even still had fed gm match small rifle and cci 450 on the shelf over a week. I’m hearing a lot of folks share similar stories. could the supply crisis be...

    Mid range streak

As many of you know my fav shooting is headsized targets from 300-600 yards. Especially hostage style. So I’ve hung a couple on one lane where I shoot from one ridge to another, targets 410 and 415 yards, and another few targets up a power line at 423, 444 and 458 yards. I'm editing this cause...

    Franklin copies coax?

Saw a couple Franklin Arsenal presses in lgs this weekend that looked exactly like a co ax except they jacked up the bushing so it would require a proprietary one instead of any old lock ring. they were same price as coax usually sell for as well. anybody seen these? Are there any...

    Shooting 22lr

With my 6.5x47L Pretty challenging targets at 100 yards. but I kinda like using them for bench work. Maybe a little better than shoot n see dots. I went to the range this afternoon with a shot up IPSC cardboard silhouette. So I decided to stick some 22lr shells in it that I picked up off the...

Can a gun be a pistol under state law and an SBR under NFA?

Assume you register a “pistol” AR15 with a brace as an SBR. It’s obviously a rifle according to the NFA. assume your gun has a 10” barrel and you’re in TN. TN law defines a handgun as having a barrel less than 12” and made or adapted to be fired with one hand. You have a valid TN handgun...

    The way it was

But really, it was bumble bees. Tens of thousands of BBs every few months at wasps and bumble bees. And when there weren’t any flying insects, dandelions. I never even had my own BB gun. From pretty much 5th grade til I left for college I used the daisy that my dad had when he was a kid in...

    Primers12 scam

Fairly certain this is a scam website. They claim to have h1000 in stock. I called them. They didn’t answer but texted me back right away. I googled them and they seem super sketchy. This is my text conversation. Caveat emptor

LPVO vs high mag scope and offset red dot

There's been a lot of discussion on several forums about LPVO and offset optics lately, so I wanted to take some pics. I've recently built a new SPR style AR with 18" barrel, using a NF 4-16x ATACR and offset RMR, with the intent to replace my aging 18" build that sports a NF 1-8x ATACR aka...
