this is my "i just got it 2 days ago and have taken it to the range twice" review.

in theory, this device attaches to your ocular lens and allows you to see through your scope and operate operationally like normal, while it magically sees what you see and records it. it uses wifi to attach to your phone and through an app you can control it, including start/stop. theoretically, super useful.

overall, i'd say it's pretty good, but i am a little disappointed.

key points are
1. significant distortion
2. hard to focus
3. when the rifle moves under recoil, it can't keep up. i suspect 30fps isn't enough. this is key to my disappointment as the half second after the bang is the most important to me and what i really spent the $$ on to be able to watch for both posterity and training
4. only takes about an inch of eye relief, which is good
5. seems to make FOV a bit smaller
6. scopes like Nightforce, which rotate the entire ocular housing when changing magnifcation are suboptimal as it rotates the orientation of camera (i.e. if I go from 25x to 35x, the view from the camera looks like i'm leaning over about 40 degrees) and this can interfere with bolt handle
7. battery and charging seem good but jury is still out
8. weight doesn't seem to make a big difference
9. iphone app works pretty well. kinda goofy interface though
10. there's a toggle in the app to allow you to remove the watermark from the image but it won't let me turn it off.
11. I do like that it's relatively clear where your image is stored. i.e. when you are in the app, connected to the cam, you can see the files, and view them. but if you want to download them, you can do so and it transfers the large image file to your APP. then gives you an option to move it from the app to your iphone pics/videos.
12. it appears reasonably water resistant
13. so far i haven't been able to see mirage through it, but that could be because it's so freakin hard to focus
14. The attachment mechanism is about as inspired as a hose clamp

I could go on a while, but i suspect if i took the time to set up my spotting scope and put the cam on it, i'd get a fantastic video showing my trace etc. but i wouldn't see my wobble and exactly where my crosshairs were when it went off, and how well i managed recoil.

anyway, here's a link https://triggercam.com/product/triggercam-2-1/

i'll post some videos in my mid-range streak thread. post #24 https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/mid-range-streak.904863/

i took it out again tonight after it got dark and tried it with the NV. i'll post a couple quick videos here.

the first is a brief view of ranging the target using the silencerco radius and pvs27. a couple quick notes: i've discussed using rifle mounted LRF years ago, but here's what it looks like when you do it. in theory, i'd have zeroed it so that the flashing bar (aka the laser) is aiming where my crosshairs are when zero'd at 100 yards (I have 2 mils dialed on scope when this was taken). but it's not zero'd to this gun at the moment and it doesn't matter cause i can see exactly where the beam is and put it right on the target and read the number off the back of the LRF LCD display.

in this video, i quickly shoot the target and you can see the flash as it hits.

notes about the trigger cam:
15. i had to re mount it because the pvs27 only does up to 12x magnification so i had to turn my NF 7-35x way, way down, and as previously mentioned, NF entire ocular housing turns, not just a magnification ring like most scopes.
16. it was noticably dimmer in the video than in person, so i had to turn up the gain on the PVS27 quite a bit higher than I usually do.
