What is the most powerful caliber legally available?

There was a fully-operable M4 Sherman at a local shoot here last year. As I understood it the 76mm cannon and shells were easier to get approved by the ATF than the machine guns. Each individual shell has to be registered as a DD but you can shoot and reload them without having to re-register it.

Do you get angry when the shooter next to you has a bigger BOOM than you?

Usually I shoot at an indoor range. I usually go at a time of day when I'm the only one on the range. The noise doesn't bother me much, I'm often one of the louder shooters at the range anyway due to my choice of arms. I carry (currently a P225) 9mm but my HD weapons are .357 revolvers, and...

    Revolver to replace my auto

For HD get a used 4" revolver. .357 for choice, but a plain .38 will work too. A HD gun doesn't have any of the limitations of a CC gun... no need to hide it or carry it around all day. This is one of the reasons a shotgun is so popular for HD. As far as CCW is concerned a J-frame doesn't...

How do you keep your gun?

I would respectfully suggest that the manner in which you store your firearms is NOT useful for home defense. Your choice, but there are many scenarios where you will not have time to retrieve, uncase, load and ready a firearm in a home defense scenario. My current carry gun is a 9mm Sig...

    US-Soil Plot Foiled?

Gee thanks... I think. Mainside on Camp Pedleton wouldn't have been any harder to hit than any Army base catonement area. The point is that most installations in the US, and even overseas, aren't set up with defense in mind. They are too big, they are too spread out and most have few if any...

    US-Soil Plot Foiled?

On this you are correct. Dix is a valid military target, so killing Soldiers assigned there would not be murder, it would merely be an act of war and hence perfectly acceptable... much like the attack on the Pentagon. So because THIS attack wasn't on the scale of 9/11 ALL future attacks will...

    US-Soil Plot Foiled?

It's not about "storming" the base or "taking" it. All they have to do is shoot up the PX or commissary and scram. They don't even have to kill very many, or even any at all. It would be a PR coup just to try. Guerrilla warfare is as much about perception as actual effect. To be perfectly...

    US-Soil Plot Foiled?

Well, actually this may be the first non-terrorist thing the other side has tried. Ft Dix IS a legitimate military target... and since they don't represent a signatory to the Geneva Convention they aren't required to abide by it with regard to bearing weapons openly and wearing uniforms...

    Jericho, effectiveness of hasty militias

What are they using for fuel and spare parts, and do they have anyone who knows how to maintain it? It will run off distilled alcohol, but consumes 3-7 gallons of diesel per mile... consumption of alcohol will be higher due to lower energy density, at least double.

    Military Police?

Impersonating a Soldier, yes. Merely wearing camouflage, no. Wearing a US uniform with US Army tabs etc, and/or trying to pass yourself off as a member of the military when you are not is illegal. If his police agency uses the ACU uniform as a tactical uniform, it includes tabs to ID him as...

    Mike New Loses Legal Battle

    1. Apparently he was the 1st Secretary General of the UN. 2. So he spied while working for FDR, then quit? 3. Since he was accused of the crime, he was obviously guilty. 4. Chui Stated that ALL persons involved with the founding of the UN were convicted of spying. So far, nobody has...

    What the Heck is this?

The boxy thing on the front looks like it was designed to lock into something else... and the pistol part looks like it breaks open like a shotgun. The boxy part looks like it has a long horizontal opening in front. I know that many aircraft engines back in the day used shotgun rounds to get...

    Mike New Loses Legal Battle

Really? He deserved to go to jail because of the espionage of which he was never convicted? I suppose you miss the irony in your own quotation. The point is that these people were persecuted for their political affiliation. Now that we have a Democratic Congress I suppose you'd be ok with...
