I bet I have the shortest "career" of any of you out there.

2 1/2 hours in the VA Army National Guard Recruiting office. Found out that Asthma is literally a show-stopper regarding recruitment. :banghead:

I envy those who have served and wished that I could have had the opportunity to do so.

Basic at Fort Ord, California.
A.I.T. - Fort Rucker, Alabama - Aircraft Maint. & Doorgunner School. Then trained WOC's for 5 months (too young to go to RVN).
RVN - 12/69-12/70 - Doorgunner/Crewchief, CH47C's & Super C's. 1st Aviation Brigade, 213th ASHC (BlackCats), III Corps/Phu Loi.
Germany - 7th Medical Brigade, 421st Medivac (way too much fun).

ok, this even confuses me.

87-91 Air Troop 116ACR IDARNG - 77F Aircraft refuel/rearm (Had UH1M, UH1H and OH58s, later we traded up for AH64s, UH60s but still kept the OH58s and become 1/183d AVN BN)

Went RA in 91, changed MOS to 19K, volunteered for duty in IIRC Kosovo or Yougoslavia (whichever one was hot at the time) but was sent to Korea. 1/72 Armor, 2ID.

Back to CONUS, Ft Riley, BRO, 1/4 CAV till I got hurt. Reverted back to 77F and stuck in a REMF unit, 701MSB.

PCS'd again to Ft Bliss. Worked as Training NCO in A BTRY, 1st CAS (range control) Dona Anna RC till I was discharged in 96 for my knee injury.

Wouldn't have missed it for the world, couldn't pay me enough to do it again.
 
Update to my status. I'm on terminal leave and become civilian 1 Nov 2007. Retiring after 22 years and 5 months of service in the Air Force.
