    Why I reload

Yeah, getting setup for .38 spl is on the list. Just can't make the $100 plus investment yet as I have many other reloading projects on the table ahead of it. Soon though.

    Why I reload

It was apparent to me this weekend a good reason why I reload. My wife started shooting her brand new Ruger LCR and after 10 shots developed a bruise. I told her, here take my 1911 and give your hand a break for a little while. She laughed and said no thanks. That gun is bigger and way...

    7.62x39 .312 bullet in .310 neck?

Well, they shot pretty good for a plinking load. Not as accurate as my Hornady loads, but I didn't expect them to be. No signs of jacket separation, however I could Not load my 20 round Ruger magazines to capacity. The spring tension sent the flat nose into the side of the magazine before...

10/22 LVT is on the way

My dad uses that gun for CMP rimfire match. He has 2. He changes the stock to a Hogue, sends the gun out for work. Cuts the barrel to 18" crowns it, Bentz chamber, polished bolt and a trigger job. Thing will put 10 rounds in a dime. Lucky me I got the wood stock to go on my standard Sporter...

    7.62x39 .312 bullet in .310 neck?

Thanks for all the help. I am using the same powder charge as my jacketed bullets. I have read online of a guy not having issues with my charge out of a 16" Mini 30 with these bullets, so I am going to give it a try. If I see any evidence of jacket separation I will work up something slower. I...

Where are reloading components available (Not a Discussion Thread)

My local store gets stock in every monday. I am crossing my fingers that they have some W231 today. Usually when online suppliers see a few pounds of popular powder, they will have the same 1-2 weeks later. Varget showed up the past 2 weeks right after lots of online suppliers had it.

    7.62x39 .312 bullet in .310 neck?

I know, my set came with it. However in the heat of the moment processing a bunch of brass, I did not set a certain amount aside and size them correctly. In the future I will. To be honest I didn't even realize the diameter change until seating.

So I've been looking at Presses and Kits...

I bought the same kit, and reload similar calibers. What I have found is that the Hornady powder throw in the kit works awesome, however, for pistol I was having to bell the cases and then throw the powder. I bought a Lee Auto Disk for all my pistol powder and have been very happy with it. I am...

    7.62x39 .312 bullet in .310 neck?

So I have finally gotten tired of loading .45acp and 9mm and have started to load some rounds for my Mini 30. The 3 bullets that I have chosen are Hornady 123 g. Z Max, Hornady 123 g. Soft Point, and Xtreme 123 g. plated flat point. I know the Hornady bullets shoot great in my gun, but they...

A friend of mine invented this cool new tool for RCBS Rockchuckers

That is really cool. I would buy one for sure for a Hornady press. However, the location of the spent primer tray looks to be right in the way. It would probably result in having to spit primers out all over the place.

    Found some Varget today!

Sportsmans warehouse had an 8# jug I acquired the other day. Only one they had. $179 plus tax. Not PV cheap, but good enough for me. Got 8#s of 3 of my 5 powders. If I can just get a jug of W231/H38 and Universal Clays I'll be set for about 1.5 years.

After much research, I've determined my 9mm 124gr CP load HP38.

My Auto Disk .40 throws 4.3 gr of HP 38 every time. This is a very accurate and one of the cleanest rounds I run in my Kahr CM9. The cases expand nicely and I get virtually zero soot on the brass and the gun functions flawlessly with a tight spring and unpolished feed ramp.

    What's a NIB GP100 worth?

Thanks guys. I don't plan to sell it, I was just making sure there was not a reason why I should keep it unfired. Sometimes I get bored shooting 1911's and wanted a wheel gun I could shoot the snot out of.

    Loading heavier bullets in .223

Jim, be careful with those A max bullets. The OAL needed for those according to my Hornady manual puts them longer than the mag length for an AR. They would be single shot only rounds.

    What's a NIB GP100 worth?

Sorry for the low quality. Cell phone pics.

    What's a NIB GP100 worth?

    Loading heavier bullets in .223

I tried CFE 223, and it wasn't good at all. I am now trying Varget and expect great things. I would look into using Varget and TAC. Reloader 15 and H4895 I have been told work good as well if you can't find any Varget.

    What's a NIB GP100 worth?

I know what a new gun costs now. But I have a brand new, never shot 4" SS GP100 from 2007. I know this gun has the now extinct rosewood/rubber grips, but is their anything else special about this gun over 2014 models that would make it appealing to someone. And what would the value be today if...

    Reloading Efficiency and Error checking.

The best advice given to me, which I just started loading this year, was to buy a Lee Pro Auto Disk for all of my pistol production. Made my life a whole lot better. I only use the big powder thrower for rifle cases now, and will eventually try out the double disk setup and see if it gets my 223...
