dates to 1900 'C' series. when slide is cranked back to pick up a round all is well. when slide is cranked forward to chamber the round all is well except it wont lock in place ie you can continuosly crank the slide back/forth without using the button on the side. need some pointers in the right...

the extractor guide pins are still in (not taking them out) and the gas ring still in but would like to remove it without to mush hassle to replace it.
I have a 1900-1901 takedown bbl assy for a 97 but the area on the slide action bar is blank. I have a 1908 assy with the winchester name and model stamped in the slide bar. anybody know when the stampings occurred or is there something amiss with what i have? thanks
just picked up one dating to 1899-1900 in really good condition compared to the 1908 i got a week ago. is the any bad compared to the 'E' frame as far as putting it to a good shooting? all it needs is some furniture. thanks
I have the manual but the drawing doesnt look at all like the parts I have. Thanks anyhow but I was able to get info from my brother in oklahoma and got it put together correctly.
Brought home a used 1100 today and had previously bought a new piston set from midway and the new parts dont match the parts on the gun. I did get for 12 ga. Is there a change somewhere along the road and which way do they get put in? Are they assembled or backed up to each other? HELP
just picked up a nice one with good working internals made 1908. any suggestions about ammo to go through it since its 101 years old? definately want to use it for cas. thanks 12ga
