Reduced load for Savage 10ML (smokless)

You're making this way more complex than it needs to be. For reduced loads, you shouldn't be looking at a slower burning powder like 4895. You'll never build enough pressure at the speed you want for consistent ignition. Maybe in hot weather, but the first cold morning you try that... pffffft...

Reduced load for Savage 10ML (smokless)

Just take AA5744 or whatever you're shooting and keep on backing off until you get the velocity you want. Probably around 30grains with a 250gr bullet. Since there's no powder chamber on an MZ, you don't have to worry about detonation. This place will have all you ever need to know about...

    Refinishing a gun

Thanks for the info. That was my plan to polyeurothane the wood (unless someone had a better idea), but I had no plan for the metal. Unless something else comes up, the gunkote looks like it will do the job very well. Thanks, Luke

    Refinishing a gun

Hi all, It’s time to refinish my boat paddle (a.k.a. 870 Express). I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions or helpful hints (maybe some links?); I’m planning on doing both the metal and the wood. Specifically concerning the metal, I would like to do somewhat of a matte...

    Mossberg slug accuracy?

Hey good to hear from you Matt. Sorry, I'm happy where I'm at. You're just jealous of my boat paddle. :-) At least I haven't missed a crow at <20 ft with it. Oh, speaking of my boat paddle, I'm thinking of refinishing the whole thing: stock & steel. Certainly, I can't make it look...

    Mossberg slug accuracy?

Yes, I realize there aren't many shortcuts you can really take for finding the best slug for a specific gun; however at $10 a box or whatever, I'll take any shortcut, not matter how slight I can find. And starting with slugs people have had success with in a similar barrel is a very good place...

    Mossberg slug accuracy?

Thanks Foghorn, I know all about how slugs work in different barrels and how each gun will have its own particular taste. I was asking because I've got the opportunity to purchase the above barrel, and I was wondering what other people's experience with the Mossberg barrels were. I figured...

    Mossberg slug accuracy?

Hey all, Thanks for the info. For those of you looking for slugs to try, Lightfield slugs were highly touted by several other people on another board. I think I'll give them a try, if I can find some--I don't recall seeing them for sale around here. -Luke

    Mossy and Sporting Clays

My friend just calls his BPS a K79. Yes, I laugh at him, but he's my friend, and I'm always trying to get in his head at the range. I wouldn't give it a second thought if I saw someone else shooting a round of trap with a 500. Hey, I even break out my 870 express every once in a while...

    Mossberg slug accuracy?

I was wondering if anyone out there can give me any experiential information concerning Mossberg slug barrels, specifically the 24 inch, fully rifled type—group size, ammo used, etc.? Thanks, Luke

    Mossberg slug accuracy?

I thought there might be a few riflemen who could help me with this too, so I thought I'd put it up here as well: I was wondering if anyone out there can give me any experiential information concerning Mossberg slug barrels, specifically the 24 inch, fully rifled type—group size, ammo used...

    Scope Mounting?

Hey, Are there any tricks out there for level scope mounting? I've seen those scope levels and such; but, tightwad that I am, I was wondering if there's a way to do it without making a purchase.

    barrel life

What would be the average barrel life of a .22-250. Lets say average velocity loads with moly-coated bullets. -Luke

    A-bolt trigger adjustment

Thanks Omaha, The screw was there, just as you said. I didn't actually try any adjusting, yet. I didn't have my little screwdrivers handy, and that is a little screw. -Luke

    A-bolt trigger adjustment

Hi, I own a Browning A-Bolt II varmit, and while I love the gun, the trigger is a little heavy; so I was wandering if someone out there could tell me what my options are. Drop in, mechanically adjust, polish, etc? Thanks, Luke
