Words of wisdom from antis re: SCOTUS

I was reading the comments written by readers in the New York Times regarding yesterday's decision. It was interesting to see how they would throw around "facts" and "statistics" that had obviously been pulled from their anuses. Some were: It's an established fact that most of the gun crime...

LaPierre VS. Helmke on MSNBC Hardball NOW

I listen to Matthews, but he was starting to get under my skin with his silly comments to LaPierre; "are you ready to stop looking for the black helicopters?" or "does this mean you can walk down Times Square with a bazooka?" He needs to get a clue.

    Cycling and shooting

I envy your ability to legally do so (CCW):( I'll be retiring in a few more years and then this roadie hits the road.

    Is this a good group?

I'd say that's a rhetorical question. Good shooting!

    Fedex loses my ammo

Hmmm. I was recently surprised to get a call at work on my cell phone from the fedex driver that was trying to deliver a case of CMP ammo to my house. He left it at back door as I requested. I'm still trying to figure how he got my number. I can't complain about this guy!

    Mosin-Nagant user thread

Until I ordered a headspace gauge from here http://hometown.aol.com/yankeng/myhomepage/business.html I "insulated" myself from the rifle on the first ever shot. Glasses, gloves, heavy covering (piece of rug) over the rifle while on a bench, etc. A bit paranoid, but as they say, better safe...

16-inch guns fired on BB-64 for last time

When vacationing in Camden, NJ be sure to visit the SS New Jersey. It's permanently anchored right across the river from its birthplace at the former Phila Naval Ship Yard.

    Are dumb-dumbs legal?

csmkersh, out of 8.3 million of us, there are probably only a few hundred with a ccw.

    Are dumb-dumbs legal?

New Jersey doesn't prohibit them for SD purposes in the home, which is the only place you can defend yourself with a gun since there is no CCW. Their use during the commission of a crime is prohibited and does add extra years to a sentence.

    The future climate for guns?

Unfortunately, it isn't backed by gold. http://money.howstuffworks.com/currency7.htm One of the long-standing myths about modern currency is that it is backed by the U.S. gold supply in Fort Knox. That is, you can trade your greenback dollars to the U.S. government for the equivalent...

    Remington 597 .22LR RANGE REPORT

New Jersey legal AK-47. Is this possible?

I've never seen a Saiga at the range here in NJ (not the definitive answer to your question). Are they magazine feed? If so, are they over 15 rounds?

New Jersey Could Imprison Gunowners for Legal Purchases

They know about NJ first hand...do you? Where do you think Exit 5 is? :p And don't peak at my sig line.

New Jersey Could Imprison Gunowners for Legal Purchases

And can we skip the Jersey bashing and keep it constructive? Thx. +1 The mention of "New Jersey" always seems to bring the low-road out of an otherwise high-roader.

Stray Bullets From Shooting Range Fly Into Home

A shooting range, regardless of its preeminence or location, MUST NOT ALLOW BULLETS TO LEAVE ITS SAFETY ZONES. I have to agree with silverlance. The range I belong to has a series of overhead baffles on each range that prevents errant shots from sailing off into the distance. They get...

What do you like to see in a Range Safety Officer?

They sell inexpensive (A buck or two) "flags" that can be put in the action, or use a large, empty cartridge - sort of an intentional stovepipe. I'm a relatively new RSO and will make an effort to incorporate all the comments that have been shared here. Thanks!
